Jermaine Dupri Isn't Surprised By J.I The Prince Of N.Y's Success After "The Rap Game"

In 2016, Jermaine Dupri launched his rap competition series The Rap Game. Five seasons and five winners later, the young aspiring stars have found themselves with growing fan bases and opportunities they may have never received without appearing on the show. Mulatto was The Rap Game's very first winner and most successful, thus far. Following closely behind her is J.I the Prince of N.Y who has been gaining steam in rap circles, as well. 

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Jermaine Dupri discussed the accomplishments of his former contestants. He's not surprised by what they've been able to achieve because that's the point of series. "It’s supposed to happen,” said Dupri. “That’s how I look at it. People ask me if I’m surprised all the time. I’m not surprised because I picked them. I don’t think people realize it. The funniest part about this whole thing is that people keep acting like, especially with J.I."

Of all of the contestants that have appeared on The Rap Game, Dupri said that he gets asked about J.I the most because people want to know if he regrets not crowning the young rapper as the winner. "People don’t understand, I personally picked this guy to be on my TV show," the So So Def mogul said. "I knew exactly what he was way before anybody, before he even knew what he was. I knew exactly what he was... Every time I see him doing something, I’m 100 percent ecstatic about it because I love seeing how they go from...that’s my thing. I love seeing people go from scratch to being successful. When I started, I had a vision that they could always be that.”

The fifth season of The Rap Game aired in 2019 and it's unknown if another is on the horizon. Each winner is offered the opportunity to sign a record contract with So So Def, but Mulatto opted to work as an independent artist so that she could have more control over her career.

Meg didn't hesitate and jumped right into her freestyle, and as she continued, the DJ became increasingly impressed by the "WAP' rapper's rhymes.

Corey Feldman Sues WeTV, Claims Network Held Him & Family Hostage On Set

Another celebrity has a set of scathing accusations set against WeTV. The popular reality network is a favorite among fans, but recently, it has taken a hit from Tamar Braxton. The network hosts Braxton Family Values, a staple that has continuously brought in dedicated viewers who like to keep up with the famous musical family. However, Tamar accused WeTV of diabolical moves and holding her captive under contract. She publicly denounced the network and claimed that they were the main cause of her depression which led to her alleged suicide attempt. Now, Goonies icon Corey Feldman has surfaced with accusations of his own as he has filed a lawsuit again WeTV and Thinkfactory Media in connection with his appearance on Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition last year.

The explosive season of the show found celebrities facing off with their family members as they aired out their dirty laundry. According to Feldman, he only agreed to participate in the show if he would truly receive real therapy to help with his family struggles. Feldman states in documents obtained by The Blast that wasn't the case and instead "the Producers, Doctors, and the Network are responsible for causing PTSD and damaging his reputation making it difficult to deliver his message to protect children by fraudulently manipulating him into Celebrity Childhood Sexual Trauma Reality Porn, a common concept we are now seeing more often on television.” The actor added that the network was “capitalizing on the individual’s inability to cope with life."

Corey Feldman is suing for "negligent medical and professional behavior in addition to false imprisonment, false inducement to perform, entering into fictitious development agreement, and emotional distress and trauma stemming from the treatment received on and off camera.” He claims production “held him and his family hostage under duress in a location unknown to them, causing severe emotional trauma.” In other seasons of Marriage Boot Camp, guests are allowed to leave if they want, so it hasn't been made clear how Feldman and his family were kept against their will.

The actor is seeking a financial settlement but the specified amount is reportedly undisclosed.

Brian Austin Green Will "Never Say Never" On Megan Fox Reconciliation

It looks as if Brian Austin Green isn't giving up on his 10-year marriage with Megan Fox without a fight. Over the last few months, fans have watched as Megan Fox has openly displayed her romance with Machine Gun Kelly. The unlikely couple hasn't been shy about their relationship, even though Fox is legally still married to Green and they share three children together. Machine Gun Kelly has said that this is the real deal for him, but Green told fans that he isn't ruling out a reconciliation with his wife.

During an Instagram Live, the Beverly Hills 90210 icon was asked if he believes that he could work things out with Megan Fox. "I never say never," he reportedly responded. "You never know. Ron Jeremy Hit With 20 New Sexual Assault Charges, Includes A Teen Girl

It's been a slow decline for Ron Jeremy over the last few years. Back in 2018, Ron Jeremy was barred from the Adult Entertainment Awards for allegedly violating their code of conduct, and there were murmurs of women who have accused him of sexual assault. Then, reports surfaced earlier this year that the adult film legend was being investigated in Los Angeles, and in June, Jeremy was charged with rape and sexual assault. On Monday (August 31), reports surfaced that Ron Jeremy is facing a slew of new charges from upwards of 13 accusers who allege that the porn star is guilty of inappropriate conduct.

According to NBC 4 Los Angeles, 67-year-old Ron Jeremy was hit with "20 additional sexual assault counts, involving 12 women and a teen girl, that date back to 2004." Jeremy has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and lewd conduct in connection to incidents that allegedly occurred at a West Hollywood home in 2014, a West Hollywood bar in 2017 and 2019, and a party in Santa Clarita in 2004.

The publication states that Jeremy has been under investigation for two years and if convicted under the first set of charges, could be sentenced to up to 90 years behind bars. It's unclear how the new counts will affect his potential sentencing.

Brandy & Monica's "Verzuz": Over 1 Million Viewers, New Songs, & Much More

There is a lot to unpack with Brandy and Monica's Verzuz. The two ladies not only shared the stage and played some of their favorite, classic hits, but they also told stories about what went on behind the scenes during their careers. Unsurprisingly, Monica spent a moment to give C-Murder a shout out as she spoke about prison reform and vying for his freedom. Before they even began, vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris opened the Verzuz by sharing her enthusiasm and urged the public to vote in the 2020 election.

Over 1 million viewers were tuned in at any given time, so we can only imagine what the final Verzuz numbers look like. Monica and Brandy filmed at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and both singers brought in their family and friends who kept their distance off-camera. There were plenty of notable celebrities tuned in and commenting including Halle Berry, Michelle Obama, Snoop Dogg, Omarion, Keyshia Cole, Lil Mo, Eric Bellinger, Jermaine Dupri, Stevie J, La La Anthony, Lena Waithe, Sevyn, Erykah Badu, DaniLeigh, Killer Mike, Joyner Lucas, Jacob Latimore, Kehlani, Lenny Kravitz, and many more.

Each of the singers played new music, including Monica who premiered her new song "Trenches" featuring Lil Baby. Of course, fans waited impatiently for the coup de grâce—"The Boy is Mine"—and it was just as epic as everyone had hoped. Brandy, who had been sliding in subliminals about collaborating with Monica (and being politely shot down by her fellow singer) ended the Verzuz with the final word. While hugging Monica she said, "Please be on the lookout for the tour," before the feed cut out. Earlier in the Verzuz, Brandy said that she and Monica were a "group" to which Monica quickly stated, "We are not a group!"

Usher & Girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea Expecting First Child Together: Report

Congratulations are in order for Usher Raymond and his girlfriend now that the acclaimed singer is reportedly expanding his family with Jenn Goicoechea. According to a report by Us Weekly, Usher and Jenn Goicoechea were snapped by photographers and the expectant mother showed off her growing baby belly today (August 31) in Los Angeles. While it is unclear when their relationship began, the singer and Goicoechea, who works as the vice president of A&R at Epic Records, went public with their romance around October 2019.

This will make for Usher's third child, as he shares two sons—12-year-old Usher and 11-year-old Naviyd—with ex-wife Tameka Foster. After breaking things off with Foster in 2009, Usher wed his manager Grace Miguel. They would divorce in 2018, and now Usher is happily in love with the 36-year-old record executive. It's unclear if Jenn has any other children but some reports state that this is her first child.

Usher and Jenn have been fiercely private about their romance, but that's how Usher has operated in almost all of his relationships. We're sure that now that the cat is out of the bag, there will be plenty of updates about Usher and Jenn's bundle of joy. Congrats to the couple!

Proteje Releases New Project "In Search Of Lost Time" Ft. Wiz Khalifa & Popcaan

Protoje has been uplifting spirits as he leads the reggae revival movement from Jamaica and beyond. The singer returned with his fifth studio album this week titled, In Search Of Time that he's been gearing up for over the past few weeks. The project includes 10 tracks in total with appearances from Wiz Khalifa, who features on the single, "A Vibe," and Popcaan, who joins forces with Protoje on "Like Royalty." Toni Braxton Regrets Not Having More Sex: "I Should Have Partied More"

We've witnessed plenty of stars throughout the years take full advantage of their fame and wealth. Luxury vacations, wild clubs, and jumping from one relationship to the next. Toni Braxton seemed to stay away from that sort of controversy. The singer did make headlines for financial issues, health concerns, and music news, but she wasn't as troublesome as other celebrities during her heyday. Reflecting on her career, Toni Braxton told The Guardian that she wishes she would have let loose a little more and mentioned that growing up religious may have played a factor.

I think my religious upbringing stopped me doing a lot of things that I should have done. It’s not a good look at the age I am now. Trump Doesn't Condemn Kyle Rittenhouse Killings: "They Very Violently Attacked Him"

After news began to circulate that President Donald Trump "liked" a tweet that supported the actions of Kyle Rittenhouse, he has now made an official statement regarding the Kenosha, Wisconsin murders. The city has been faced with protests following the death of Jacob Blake, a father who was shot and killed by police in front of his children. Teenager Kyle Rittenhouse, along with members of a militia group, armed themselves and crossed state lines to, according to them, defend businesses against protesters and looters.

Rittenhouse walked the streets with an AR-15-style weapon and shot and killed someone before killing one more and injuring another when confronted. Support for the teen has been overwhelming as $100K has reportedly been raised in crowdfunding from a Christan group and hundreds of thousands of people have taken to social media to say that Rittenhouse didn't do anything wrong.

Earlier today, reports stated that the White House claimed the president wouldn't be addressing the controversial killing, however, during a press conference, Trump did just that. A journalist asked Trump if he condemned the actions of vigilantes like Rittenhouse.

"We're looking at all—that was an interesting situation," President Trump said. "You saw the same tape as I saw and he was trying to get away from them, I guess. It looks like. Then he fell and they very violently attacked him and it was something that we're looking at right now, it's under investigation, but I guess he was in very big trouble. Michael B. Jordan Pens Heartfelt Tribute To Chadwick Boseman

The passing of Chadwick Boseman has left many in shock, especially since no one knew that he was battling colon cancer. His family issued a statement on Friday confirming his passing, along with news that he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016. Over the past four year of his life, he had been quietly battling cancer while it progressed to stage IV. Black Panther was among the many movies he filmed during that time.

Fans across the world have mourned the loss of the man who brought King T'Challa to life, along with his co-stars and friends in the industry. Michael B. Jordan took to Instagram where he shared a beautifully penned tribute along with a series of photos of the two together. The post served as a poem of sort, as Jordan praised the everlasting impact Chadwick had on his life.

Since nearly the beginning of my career, starting with All My Children when I was 16 years old you paved the way for me," he wrote. While the Kentucky A.G. revealed that he did get the ballistics report, he said more investigations needed to happen in order to come to a decision whether they'll be filing charges against the officers involved or not. Meanwhile, new information surrounding her ex-boyfriend's case emerged, revealing that prosecutors wanted him to list Taylor as a co-defendant during negotiations for a plea deal.

According to TMZ, new documents emerged revealing that Jamarcus Glover, Breonna Taylor's ex-boyfriend who was hit with gun and drug trafficking charges, was offered a deal that would have made a 10-year prison sentence into probation if he named Breonna as a co-defendant in the case. Sam Aguir, the attorney representing Taylor's family, said that it was disgusting. "The fact that they would try to even represent that she was a co-defendant in a criminal case more than a month after she died is absolutely disgusting," Sam said.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas B. Wine denied Glover was ever offered this deal, adding that it was part of a draft during pre-indictment plea negotiations. He said it was removed “out of respect for Ms. Taylor.”

“Our office has not and does not posthumously indict any person who is deceased,” he said, even though the document Aguir posted on his Facebook page said otherwise.

Letoya Luckett Reveals She Slept In Her Car After Leaving Destiny's Child

The beginning of Letoya Luckett's career spelled success. Back in the 1990s, the teen was apart of the budding quartet Destiny's Child, and after putting out a few hit singles, things began to take a turn. Soon, members began to shift and LaTavia Roberson was replaced, and then, Letoya Luckett found herself removed from the group, as well. Luckett would reemerge with her own series of albums and acting gigs, but in a recent interview, she revealed that there was a time when she was homeless or living out of hotels.

"I'mma tell you before my journey, I was staying at people's houses," Letoya Luckett said. "I'll never—I've never said it. I've never told these stories before. I slept in a car in L.A. while I was making my first album. Not a lot of nights but, you know what I'm saying? Water jug, gallon of water. I was staying in hotels. Couldn't really afford anything else."

"So, I was drinking a gallon of water and buying the microwaveable Oodles of Noodles and I was cooking them on the coffee pot of the hotel," the singer continued while shedding tears at the memory. "And then I went out for a role, which was my first role ever for Preacher's Kid and got it. And that's what got me out of that hotel. From Preeacher's Kid I met Tank, went back [and] started doing my second album. Yeah. It was a lot, but I was uncomfortable for a minute... It was straight up, me and God."

The picture shows Keshia Chante relaxing in her bathing suit and wrap, showing off her glowing skin and flawless features.

Kevin Gates Surprises Wife With A Bizarre New Pet

Kevin Gates has always been one of the more interesting and entertaining artists out there. Whenever you put him in front of a camera, you know he's going to say something bizarre or headline-worthy. Who doesn't have a soft spot for Megan Thee Stallion freestyles?

The rapper got popular off her quick freestyle sessions and she's returning to her roots, playing a beat off her laptop and spitting whatever came to her mind, even addressing her shooting from a few weeks ago.

One of the main topics that have surrounded Megan Thee Stallion for the last several weeks has been the shooting involving her and Tory Lanez in the Hollywood Hills. The two rappers had allegedly left a party together and, in the car, they had a heated argument. When Megan tried to leave, Tory allegedly shot her multiple times in her feet. 

In her new freestyle, Megan addresses the situation.

"Tic tac toe, I X this bitch, if a hit dog holler, I address that shit," raps the Houston superstar to start off her bars-heavy display. "Got shot two times and I ate that shit, bounced right back with a Revlon deal."

She is referring to the major make-up deal that she signed mere days after the drama was at its highest. 

Megan has been big on keeping her narrative in her own hands. She has decided not to let this dwell for too long (despite the internet's best efforts) and is moving on by getting another #1 record in "WAP" with Cardi B, teasing even more new music, and now coming through with a dope freestyle.

T.I. & Young Thug Reunite For An "Instant Classic"

T.I. has been around for nearly two decades, having firmly established himself as a legend in the game -- one who has collaborated with damn near every artist that comes to mind. A founding father of Trap Music as we know it, Tip Harris has deftly carried on the tradition for Southern lyricism, his swagger never coming at the cost of his bars. And while he's generally appreciated for a variety of qualities across the board, more praise ought to be given to his versatility. More specifically, his ability to find chemistry with his collaborator no matter how much the styles may differ.

Case in point, T.I. has amassed a healthy number of bangers with Young Thug, including "Can't Tell," "Bout The Money," and "The Weekend," their last collaboration from The Dime Trap. At least, until now. As seen on Instagram, Tip and Thugger have been hard at work in the studio, cooking up some new music for an unknown project. On that note, T.I made sure to offer up a cryptic, albeit promising, message in his caption.

Mac Miller is trending on Twitter this morning because people are looking at a video of actor Robert Pattinson and getting serious flashbacks, claiming that the two really look alike.

For much of Robert Pattinson's career, he has sported longer hair but the moment he began rocking a buzzcut, people took a look at him and thought they were seeing one of the most impactful rappers of our generation.

"Why does Robert Pattinson look like MacMiller?" asked one person on Twitter. "He looks like evil MacMiller," said another, garnering over 80,000 likes.

An abundance of messages followed, enough so that a Mac Miller trend kicked off. While some were not happy to see the late star trending, others were glad to see his name when they woke up, sharing their favorite memories of the rapper and posting their most-listened-to songs from him.

Legendary Georgetown Coach John Thompson Jr Passes Away

If you're a fan of the Georgetown Hoyas or just college basketball as a whole then you are probably well aware of John Thompson Jr. Johnson was the head coach of the Hoyas from 1972-1999 and during that time, he was able to pick up a record of 596–239 which just goes to show how successful he was. One of his greatest accomplishments came in 1984 when he became the first black head coach to ever lead a team to the NCAA Championship. Unfortunately, Johnson passed away today at the age of 78.

Thompson touched the lives of numerous young basketball players throughout his career, especially Allen Iverson who got to see first hand just how great of a coach and motivator Thompson was. Today, Iverson took to Twitter where he offered some kind words towards the man he says saved his life.

"Thanks For Saving My Life Coach. I’m going to miss you, but I’m sure that you are looking down on us with a big smile. I would give anything just for one more phone call from you only to hear you say, “Hey MF”, then we would talk about everything except basketball," Iverson wrote.

MTV VMAs 2020 Red Carpet: Who Killed It?

With social distancing rules in place, the MTV VMAs happened last night with Lady Gaga and The Weeknd taking home the big awards (see the complete list of winners here) and, surprisingly enough, the fans at home were even granted access to the red carpet, which was walked by some of the most stylish stars in Hollywood.

While there was not the regular brouhaha attached to a regular red carpet affair, Lady Gaga, Jaden Smith, and more showed up to flaunt their 'fits, celebrating artistry for one of the biggest nights of the year in music.

The red carpet was not as bountiful as it normally is but still, stars like The Weeknd (with his After Hours broken nose), Miley Cyrus, Machine Gun Kelly in his all-pink ensemble, Travis Barker, DaBaby, the Black Eyed Peas, Bebe Rexha, Doja Cat, and more made sure to make the night special despite the socially-distanced nature of the event.

New Air Jordan Silhouette Receives "Bred" Colorway: Photos

The Fall season is always an interesting time for the sneaker world because it means a brand new season of basketball and football is on the way. In terms of basketball, however, things are a little different as the NBA is currently in the midst of the playoffs due to the COVID-19 delay. Typically, new signature sneakers are supposed to coincide with the start of the season but this time around, the shoes are staying on schedule while the NBA looks to crown a champion in October. 

Jordan Brand is always active during this time and recently, a mystery silhouette was revealed that has some fans thinking they've found the Air Jordan 35. For now, it's unconfirmed whether this is the case although the shoe certainly has people talking. In fact, it recently got a brand new "Bred" colorway which can be found below. As you see, the shoe mostly has a black and white upper but red is placed near the midsole as well as the back heel and tongue.

This is one of those clean colorways that fans love. Over the next few months, it should become a lot clearer as to whether or not this is the Air Jordan 35 so stay tuned for details as we will be sure to bring them to you.

Flee Lord & Westside Gunn Get Melodic On "R&B Lords"

On Friday, New York lyricist Flee Lord linked up with Mephux to conjure up Pray For The Evil 2, a grimy dose of cinematic and dark underground hip-hop. Lined with plenty of standout cuts to unpack (listen to the album in full right here), one of the immediate highlights arrives early in the game with the Westside Gunn-assisted "R&B Lords." 

Now, if you're one of those who isn't down for Gunn's particular brand of off-kilter melodies, the full extent of its charm will likely be lost on you. Yet if you're on board for the animated dynamism of Griselda's spirited orchestrator, "R&B Lords" is nothing short of majestic. Off the bat, Mephux laces a lovely ballroom banger, the perfect exit music for a film. The unique instrumental allows both Gunn and Lord to slow down their flows, catching new pockets as they flex. While it might not be the expected selection from Flee's latest, there's something unique about "R&B Lord" that really catches the ear -- see your self now.

Jimmy Butler Speaks On People Picking Heat To Upset Bucks

Jimmy Bulter and the Miami Heat have been one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season and as it stands, they appear to be a darkhorse that could go on to win the NBA title. Of course, there is a lot that would need to happen for this to take place, although as it stands, they have a decent shot.

In the second round, they will be taking on the first place Milwaukee Bucks who had they had considerable success against throughout the regular season. As a matter of fact, many fans believe the Heat will upset the Bucks with ease. While speaking to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Butler divulged on these hot takes, noting that the team has one objective and they are focusing on themselves.

Right now, it seems like everybody is taking Tory Lanez off of their albums. After his involvement in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting, being named by the Houston rapper as her shooter, people have been distancing themselves from the Toronto native. JoJo ended up removing his verse from the deluxe edition of her album and so did Kehlani.

One man obviously isn't too concerned about what people think of him and his potential decision to drop a new song with Tory, asking his fans if he would be wrong for coming through with the record.

Perpetually finding new ways to get people to hate him, Tekashi 6ix9ine announced this weekend that he's got some music with Tory Lanez in the stash and he's thinking of including one of the songs on his upcoming album, which releases this week.

"I got this old Tory record that he cleared for me back in 2017," revealed 6ix9ine on Instagram Stories. "IM WRONG IF I PUT IT ON MY ALBUM??? It's already cleared & ITS A FUCKIN HIT."

He included a poll for his fans to vote in but he has not yet released the outcome.

If 6ix9ine does drop a new song with Tory Lanez, it would be a bold move, especially considering the rainbow-haired troll said that Megan Thee Stallion is his favorite rapper a few weeks ago.

Flee Lord Snaps Over Dark Production On "Pray For The Evil 2"

Over the weekend, Prodigy's protege Flee Lord delivered his latest body of work, Pray For The Evil 2, produced in its entirety by Mephux. a formidable lyricist hailing from New York, the Griselda-adjacent Flee Lord has been steadily building on his already solid repertoire, laying down some lofty goals for the remainder of the year. "I swear I'm just getting started," he declares, on the soulful "Pray For The Evil 2 Outro." "And it's all classics."

A bold declaration, but one he feels uniquely suited for -- especially given how effortlessly he glides over Mephux's grimy production, their chemistry one of the tape's notable highlights. Packing a distinctly underground flavor, it's hard not to feel the influence of Mobb Deep permeating the album's DNA with every cinematic sample. Delivering bars with a gravelly cadence and refreshingly direct clarity, Flee Lord earns his stripes as a leading man capable of handling a variety of different flow-schemes. Fans of Griselda's output should do themselves a favor and peep this one, especially given that both Westside Gunn and Keisha Plum make guest appearances.

Leonard Fournette Released By The Jaguars

Running backs have it very hard in the NFL. It's a position that has become undervalued and most of the players at that position hit the prime of their careers within their first two seasons in the league. This is a harsh reality that has led to plenty of contract disputes and a lot of frustration amongst players at that position. One of the running backs who knows this all too well is Leonard Fournette who, today, was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fournette was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft and spent three years with the Jaguars prior to this decision. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars have been trying to trade Fournette for months although they couldn't get anything done. As head coach Doug Marrone said, they couldn't even get a late-round draft pick Fournette which certainly speaks to the current market.

With this latest move in mind, Fournette now becomes a free agent and will be looking for a new team to call home. The former Jaguars star is still young which means there are certainly some teams out there who would consider his services.

Kawhi Leonard Delivers High Praise For Luka Doncic

Over the course of the last few years, there has been an influx of young talent in the NBA and now, they are starting to take over. One of those players is none other than Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks who just finished off his second year in the league. This season, Luka was able to lead his team to the playoffs and put up quite a fight against the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round. In the end, however, the Clippers were able to come out on top with a 4-2 series triumph.

After game 6, Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard was interviewed about the team's big win and was also asked about Doncic and his contributions throughout the series. Despite being rivals on the court, Leonard offered some high praise for the young Mavs star, saying that Doncic played an amazing series and that he's a leader.

“He’s a great player … battled every minute he was out there on the floor, didn’t back down. Led his team every game and he did a hell of a job out there," Leonard said.

As for Leonard and the Clippers, they will be setting their sights on round two where they will take on the winner of the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets series.

Jamal Murray Pays Tribute To Breonna Taylor & George Floyd

Jamal Murray has been having a phenomenal season with the Denver Nuggets and now that his team is in the Orlando bubble, he's picked up his play and is also fighting for a greater cause. Last night was the Nuggets' first game since the boycott this past week and they were looking to stay away from elimination as the Jazz held a 3-2 lead in the series. Murray came through with a monster of a game as he dropped 50 points and propelled his team to a win.

More importantly, however, Murray was playing for a greater cause. On his shoes, the Nuggets star had the faces of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor who were killed by police. After the game, Murray spoke on the meaning behind the shoes and got visibly emotional as he explained just how much playing for them means to him.

“We found something we’re fighting for as the NBA, as a collective unit…and I use these shoes as a symbol to keep fighting all around the world," Murray said.

Many players throughout the league are feeling the same way, especially with everything going on in the world. Over the next couple of months, the NBA plans to continue its fight for equality and the players have truly stepped up in a big way.

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards have concluded after airing virtually, Sunday night.

The show featured a handful of memorable performances from Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, DaBaby and more. Gaga and Ariana Grande led the way in nominations with nine, seven of which were tied to their collaboration on the song "Rain on Me." Machine Gun Kelly won Best Alternative for his single "Bloody Valentine," which features Megan Fox. The Weeknd won Video of the Year for "Blinding Lights" and called for justice for Breonna Taylor and Jacob Blake with his acceptance speech.
