Ahmaud Arbery Case: Man Who Recorded Video Is Receiving Death Threats

Back in February, 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed by two strangers as he went for a jog. The two men responsible, father and son duo Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael, weren't arrested or charged for killing Ahmaud, even though they had no cause to chase him down or argue with him in the first place. Only recently did the video surface and circulate online, causing a public outcry. After celebrities and politicians stepped forward to complain about the lack of justice, the McMichaels were arrested and are currently being held without bond in a Georgia jail.

While there are many unanswered questions about this case, one blaring concern was the identity of the man behind the camera. Someone was following and recording the McMichaels confront Ahmaud as he was minding his business, and the man responsible for the video has come forward. William "Roddie" Bryan hasn't shared exactly why he was there on the scene that day with a cameraphone rolling, but he's been making the press rounds on news stations claiming that his life is in danger.

“I had nothing to do with it. I'm trying to get my life back to normal, and it’s been smeared for the last week," Bryan reportedly told Action News. "I was told I was a witness and I’m not sure what I am, other than receiving a bunch of threats.” He added, "I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t scared. If that’s what they wanted to do was scare me, they’ve scared me." Watch another interview with William Bryan below as he speaks with CNN about the case.
