JW Lucas, A White Hip Hop Producer, Dragged Over Breonna Taylor Tweets

A hip hop producer is being accused of stepping over the line. The current political and social climate in America is causing many citizens to share their often unpopular opinions on social media, including producer JW Lucas. If his name isn't familiar to you, his work may be; he boasts on Twitter that he's worked with DaBaby, Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Durk. Luas decided to share a few thoughts on Twitter about Breonna Taylor, the young woman who lost her life after police stormed into her house as she was sleeping and shot her to death. JW Lucas doesn't understand why people are backing the young woman's cause.

"Why is the world asking for justice for #BreonnaTaylor...ofcourse she shouldn't have lost her life.... but do you realize that she was involved with multiple drug dealers who were using her house as a trap spot? If you sign up for that life there are consequences," Lucas wrote. He added, "It is terrible Breonna lost her life, and as I said earlier I believe the cops may have mishandled the raid and been to aggressive after being fired on. With that being said what is the punishment the world Is calling for. Those men were on the job and have families as well."

Lucas later apologized to people who were offended by his remarks but it was too late; the internet was swift in letting him know exactly what they thought. He went on Instagram Live, as well, with Tamika Mallory, one of the organizers of the 2017 Women's March. Mallory was recently arrested in Louisville while protesting on behalf of Breonna Taylor. In their heated exchange, JW Lucas told Tamika Mallory that he was more qualified to lead in the Black Lives Matter movement than she was, further stating that Mallory was focused on political gain. Ellen Degeneres Breaks Silence On Alleged Toxic Work Environment Allegations

Fans believed that The Ellen Degeneres Show was the happiest workplace environment until employees began to step forward with accusations of racism, discrimination, and intimidation. Buzzfeed even penned an exposé about what it was like behind the scenes of the popular daytime talk show, causing WarnerMedia to call up a third-party to investigate the allegations. Ellen has remained tight-lipped about the accusations, but on Thursday (July 30), a letter she reportedly sent out to her staffers leaked online.

Ellen Degeneres reportedly wrote that she aimed for her show to be a "place of happiness" where "everyone would be treated with respect." She stated that she's unhappy to learn this isn't the case and because her "name is on the show" she will "take responsibility for that." Ellen also recognized WarnerMedia's investigation and implied that she was fully cooperating. 

"I've not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I'd want them done, " Ellen wrote. "I'm also learning that people who work with me and for me are speaking on my behalf and misrepresenting who I am and that has to stop. As someone who was judged and nearly lost everything for just being who I am, I truly understand and have deep compassion for those being looked at differently, or treated unfairly, not equal, or — worse — disregarded." Ellen added she would never want anyone to experience that.

Kevin Durant Hits Andre Iguodala With Topical Subtweet

Kevin Durant and Twitter go together quite nicely. In the past, Durant has had his fair share of problems on the platform. Of course, we're referring to 2017 when he got caught defending his own honor with a burner account. Following this embarrassing self-exposing, Durant decided to be more direct with his Twitter use, and now, if he has something to say he simply goes out and says it without hiding behind an anonymous account.

Today, Durant went out and used his account in a way that will surely upset the likes of Andre Iguodala. While watching the first game back of the NBA season, Durant wrote about Brandon Ingram by saying "#14 is a different breed." If you're paying attention to the news, this comment is significant as it is a direct diss on Iguodala, who recently referred to WNBA star Aerial Powers by her number as opposed to her name. Iggy's failure to recognize Powers' name landed him in a lot of hot water.

Durant is pretty infamous for these types of subtweets and when you consider his complicated relationship with Iguodala, the timing of it all isn't surprising in the least. While the joke may have gone over people's heads, there is no denying that it's a funny one.

As for Iguodala, however, we're not so sure he's going to be laughing that one off anytime soon.

Vado Admits He Lost His Cool With Tahiry But Insinuates He Wasn't The Aggressor

This season of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition has been a fiery one. Aside from the physical altercations that have occurred between the men in the house and Kurupt being rushed to the hospital for alcohol poisoning, Vado and Tahiry's names became trending topics. The childhood friends decided to take their relationship to the next level, but they've been teetering the line between true romance and a "situationship."

A preview from an episode was shared yesterday (July 29) that showed Vado grabbed Tahiry by her shirt in anger causing the public to criticize the rapper throughout social media. He returned to insinuate that editing made it seem worse than it was and posted a text image on Instagram that read, "Nobody was hit." Vado popped up on Twitter to further explain himself, stating that people need to see the show in order to understand the context.

"I get it y'all don't kno me but those dat do know dat I'm 1 of da most humblest mannered person there is," the rapper tweeted. "Wit dat being said did I lose my cool? Yes I did cause regardless of what I should had never grabbed her by her clothes. As a man we suppose to protect our lady. Period... Jazz & Pelicans Players Kneel During National Anthem

Tonight is a huge one for the NBA as it marks the official return of the NBA season. It took four months to get to this point but we're finally here. Now, 22 teams are competing for an NBA title and in just a couple of weeks, six teams will be going home as they are ousted from the playoff picture. There are two games scheduled for tonight including a highly-anticipated match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. The other match is going on right now and it's between the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Prior to tip-off, both teams stood together and wore Black Lives Matter jerseys while kneeling for the anthem. It was a great moment of solidarity between both teams and it showcased the unity going on right now in the midst of the virus as well as social justice efforts.

NBA players are going to great lengths to get their message across, including social justice phrases on the backs of their jerseys. In the tweet below, you can even see an example of some of these messages in action.

Needless to say, players throughout the league are eager to continue the social justice fight well into the playoffs.
