J Hus No. 1 On UK Charts With "Big Conspiracy"

J Hus has earned his very first No. 1 album in the U.K. with his sophomore Big Conspiracy album at 23,536 units in its first week. It's a few notches up from the No. 6 position held by 2017's Common Sense effort. The project triumphs over Eminem's Music To Be Murdered By which entered at No. 1 last week, slipping down to the No. 2 slot this week.

Notably, Big Conspiracy features appearances from Koffee, and Burna Boy, opening up to executive producer JAE5 who continues to capture the essence of Hus' sound for a cohesive body of work.

It marks a solid return for the 23-year-old who saw his freedom last April after being sentenced to eight months for carrying a six-inch blade knife. It was an early release that was announced via an opportune appearance at Drake's tour stop in London at the O2 Arena.

"These are the type of things in my career that I’m just blessed to even be a part of," Drake said before introducing J Hus. "This is something I’ve wanted to make happen...I’m just glad I could make it happen."

Elsewhere, drill rapper M Huncho debuts at No. 5 with his Huncholini release with Island/Universal. It marks the Brit's first crack at the top 10. Following a favorable Grammys sweep, Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? switches from No. 10 to No. 7

YBN Cordae On Working With Martin Scorcese In Coke Ad: "I Didn't Know Who He Was"

Fresh off an appearance at the 2020 Grammys where he was up for two awards for his The Lost Boy debut, YBN Cordae is entering a mainstream rite of passage with a feature in new Super Bowl commercial set to air during the Big Game Sunday evening.

The brand that has tapped Cordae is Coca-Cola has he will start opposite filmmakers Martin Scorcese and Jonah Hill for the company's newest Coca Cola Energy drink. In a new interview with Billboard, however, Cordae reveals that prior to the new project, his only point of reference for Scorcese was a Drake lyric.

"I didn't know who Martin Scorsese was. I was born in ‘97, but I heard him in a Drake line [on “Tuscan Leather”] that was tough: 'Life is soundin' crazy, 40 on Martin Scorsese/ And I wouldn't change a thing if you paid me'."

Elsewhere in the chat, Cordae opened up about his plans for the coming year, voicing his interest in working with more female artists while also exploring his bounds on a personal level.

"Just stay true to myself," he told the publication of his current goals. "That's not even my goal. That's what you always have to do, ‘cause at the end of the day when the cameras are off and you put your phone down, you got to live with yourself, be comfortable and sleep at night with the decisions you've made so I’m just always myself unapologetically. And if you like it, that's dope. If you don't, that's cool, too.

Gervonta Davis Responds To Video Of Him Getting Physical With Baby's Mother

In newly-surfaced footage, lightweight championship boxer Gervonta Davis was seen grabbing the mother of his child by her neck while at an event in Miami during the Super Bowl weekend.

TMZ reports that the moment captured on film spurred from an "argument" between the two while at a charity event in the city. Upon further inspection, the event in question appears to be the Boom Cups All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game which hosted the likes of Floyd Mayweather among its roster of players. The outlet adds that the event organizers are reportedly "extremely upset" with the athlete.

Soon Davis would take to his Instagram Stories to upload a response, justifying the fact that he did not hit his baby's mother, but admitted to being "Aggressive."

"I never once hit her, yea I was aggressive and told her come on… that’s the mother of my child I would never hurt her other than that happy New Years.. January was trash.”

Around this time last year, a warrant for Davis' arrest was issued by a Fairfax County magistrate in Virginia. It was in connection to a misdemeanor assault charge. Davis soon reached a settlement in the case, however, and the charges were dropped.

Vanessa Bryant Will Receive Tribute Items Left Outside Of Staples Center

Since the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, thousands of fans have made their way to Los Angeles' Staples Center to pay their respects to the late legend by contributing countless items to honor their memories along with the seven other victims of the helicopter crash that took their lives on January 26th.

Now as the Staples Center looks for a sustainable way to manage the items, according to Lee Zeidman, Vanessa Bryant has requested that all the items that fans have left outside of Staples Center be given to her and her family.

“It will have been a week. We have contractually obligated events that are moving in,” Zeidman tells the L.A. Times. “Vanessa had reached out to us and said, ‘Our family would like the items out there.’ So we’re going to catalog every one of them. By that I mean, T-shirts, letters, basketballs, stuffed animals, toys. We’re going to put those in specially made containers and we’re going to ship them to the family.”

As for the perishable items, Zeidman plans to follow the lead of the officials of the Manchester Arena. After the 2017 terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert, the organization took all flowers and similar items, composted them, and spread them around the city.

“So we’re going to compost all those flowers out there and spread them around the plants in and around L.A. Live and in and around Staples Center,” Zeidman added. “So that means that all those fans that took the time to buy the flowers and plants and brought them down there, some of that will still be around the site.

Rico Nasty Comes To Saweetie's Defense In "Birds Of Prey" Debate

Rico Nasty is setting the record straight.

After fans have increasingly been up in arms about the Atlanta rapper's omission from the Birds Of Prey soundtrack, which included Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and Saweetie. They particularly took umbrage with the fact that Saweetie was styled in the same spike hairstyle that Rico has been seen sporting many a time. Fans would go on to accuse the move as a clear snub of Rico and proceed to accuse Saweetie of jacking the "Smack A B-tch" rapper's style in the process.

Rico, who is more privy to the inner workings of the music industry, soon came to Saweetie's defense. In a tweet, she asserted that she was sure Saweetie had nothing to do with this creative choice and also assured fans that she was not sweating the fact that she was not on the Birds Of Prey soundtrack.

"I don't think she had anything to do with anything," Rico penned. "I don’t think anything of anything iTs JUST a soundtrack [...] I wasn’t the first black girl to wear spikes and thankfully I won’t be the last."

Man Lights Spliff During Court Hearing For Possession Of Cannabis Charge

The legalization of cannabis is officially underway but there's still a long way to go. Unlike Canada, America hasn't federally legalized the plant. However, many states have begun to legalize the plant for recreational use but Tennesse doesn't appear to be one of them. That being said, one man went to drastic efforts in an attempt to prove why cannabis should be legal.

A man by the name of Spencer Boston made a concerted effort to advocate for the legalization of cannabis inside of a courtroom recently. According to ABC News, Boston was in front of a judge on Monday when he reached inside of his jacket for a doobie and lit it up while the court was in session. Boston was facing the charge for simple weed possession when he began to advocate for cannabis. The man took two hits off of the spliff before the bailiff grabbed him and escorted him out of the place.

“The people deserve better!” He declared as he was being escorted out. His actions were met with mixed reactions but most people in the court reportedly just laughed it off.

Boston was later charged with disorderly conduct and simple possession of cannabis, as well as being held in contempt of court. He'll be spending 10 days in jail for contempt before being eligible to post bond which is set at $3K.

God bless you, Spencer.

Ayanis & Queen Naija Check In With "Lil Boi (Big Talk)"

Songstress Ayanis is doubling down, following up on her Wiz Khalifa-assisted "One Night" track to return with a new collaboration in the form of "Lil Boi (Big talk)," featuring Queen Naija. On the new selection, the two sirens declare a resolution to direct their attention toward more established suitors: "If you ain't no big boss, then what you here for?"

It makes for a strong outing from the budding Ayanis who finds herself effectively settling into the image of a dynamic star in the making.

"[I'm] here to speak up for my girls," Ayanis previously told Glitter of her emerging sound. "t’s a refreshing version of R&B that’s sexy, fun, and confident with nice grooves and heavy production, as well as touching on subjects of relationships and self-worth."

Quotable Lyrics

Could have a real one by your side
But you out here chasing panties
I take it you never had
Someone to teach you what a man is
If that's the case, either way
He can't undo the damage
