Jaden Is A Bad Boy For Life On "Hottest"

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back after almost two decades with the threequel Bad Boys For Life. As expected, the movie came along with a soundtrack that is heavily hip-hop influenced. As the son of the original Bad Boy, Jaden gets a spot on the soundtrack. His single, "The Hottest," may be the best track on the album. The instrumental is comprised of an anxious sounding synth that slithers around trap percussions. Jaden employs his cocksure flow, asserting himself as the new Bad Boy.

Jaden is a hard artist to put in a box. He strives to sound different, but on "The Hottest" he colors in the lines. The track sounds ready cut for the radio and isn't very experimental, which is a step away from the music we've been getting from Jaden lately. The single would hit heavy in the club, but it also makes for that perfect work out music.

Quotable Lyrics
And the spot is by the beach
Pull up in that eco friendly, and I don't wanna preach
Got the twins with me, had to give 'em 50 each
Homie told me if I pull up, that I might end up deceased
Let me think, that shit was a reach (Facts)
I'm done with the talkin', I just gotta let 'em see (Oh)

Quentin Tarantino Plans To Direct "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" Spin Off Series

Quentin Tarantino plans to direct a Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spinoff series based on the show within the movie titled Bounty Law.

"As far as the Bounty Law shows, I want to do that, but it will take me a year and a half," Tarantino told Deadline in a recent interview. "It got an introduction from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I don't really consider it part of that movie even though it is. This is not about Rick Dalton playing Jake Cahill. It's about Jake Cahill."

The acclaimed director has written five episodes and plans to direct all of them.

"Where all this came from was, I ended up watching a bunch of Wanted, Dead or Alive, and The Rifleman, and Tales of Wells Fargo, these half-hour shows to get in the mindset of Bounty Law, the kind of show Rick was on," he said. "I'd liked them before, but I got really into them. The concept of telling a dramatic story in half an hour. You watch and think, wow, there's a helluva lot of storytelling going on in 22 minutes. I thought, I wonder if I can do that? I ended up writing five half-hour episodes. So I'll do them, and I will direct all of them."

Tarantino also plans to release an extended cut of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

JID, Lute, & 6lack Are "Still Dreamin"

Dreamville's Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 spawned several classic cuts and also garnered three Grammy nominations for "Down Bad," "Middle Child," and the album itself. So, it was only right that the Dreamville squad blessed fans with a deluxe version of the album before the big award ceremony. The Revenge Of The Dreamers Deluxe edition is packed with new music, but the outro "Still Dreaming" stands out as a truly soul-stirring track.

J.I.D, Lute, and 6lack team up for the introspective and mellow outro. Ari Lennox also loans her vocals to the chorus, which is anthemic and gospel-inspired. The hopeful vibes of this song are inspiring and each artist delivers truly contemplative verses. Produced by Supah Mario, "Still Dreamin" features a calming guitar riff that will lull the listener into a state of thoughtful calm.

Quotable Lyrics
But just a little fly, finding smells through a shitty walk of life
Or Walter Payton on the sideline, the pie line is mine
In my mind, I try to see myself through God eyes
Fuck a guideline or tour guide, nobody helped me, but I’m not fine
God got me, but if not, then this nine got me
Nah, Akhi, this bird shit, you pop cocky
I gotta get the mop, they tryna leave the boy sloppy

Oceans' Rise In Heat Over Last 25 Years Equals "3.6 Billion Hiroshima Bombs"

In a new study titled "Record-Setting Ocean Warmth Continued in 2019," scientists have determined that the temperature of the ocean's surface to 2,000 meters deep has shown warming of 228,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Joules of heat over the last 25 years, as reported by Complex.

The study's lead author, Lijing Cheng, explained the warming to CNN by making an analogy to the atom-bomb: "The amount of heat we have put in the world's oceans in the past 25 years equals to 3.6 billion Hiroshima atom-bomb explosions. This measured ocean warming is irrefutable and is further proof of global warming. There are no reasonable alternatives aside from the human emissions of heat-trapping gases to explain this heating."

For reference, the Hiroshima atom-bomb was 63,000,000,000,000 Joules.

"The price we pay is the reduction of ocean-dissolved oxygen, the harmed marine lives, strengthening storms and reduced fisheries and ocean-related economies," Cheng explained. "However, the more we reduce greenhouse gasses, the less the ocean will warm."

The study credits this heat increase for the rise in extreme weather conditions: "The increasing heat increases evaporation, and the extra moisture in the warmer atmosphere nourishes heavy rains and promotes flooding leading to a more extreme hydrological cycle and more extreme weather (in particular hurricanes and typhoons). It is one of the key reasons why the Earth has experienced increasing catastrophic fires in the Amazon, California, and Australia in 2019 (extending into 2020 for Australia)."

Mac Miller Invites Us Into His Head In The Clouds On "I Can See"

After Mac Miller's family announced last week that a posthumous album, Circles, would be released to the public, anticipation was high. Before his untimely death in September of 2018, Mac had been working on the project, which serves as a companion album to 2018's Swimming, with Jon Brion, who went on to complete the album "based on his time and conversations with Malcolm" after he passed. All 12 tracks on Circles are both heartbreaking and beautiful. Though some take the tempo up a bit, every track ceases to escape the devastating inflection that his death inevitably has on this existential, posthumous body of work.

On almost every song, Mac posits his self-reflection as a dominating lyrical force, but "I Can See" invites us into his mind plagued with overthinking with a certain sweetness. His delivery of the line from the chorus, "And all I know, if life is but a dream then so are we" is riddled with soulfulness that makes you feel like you're floating. It's on the chorus, too, that Mac's ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, has been rumoured to be featured, as a female voice that sounds strikingly similar to Ariana's can be heard harmonizing with Mac. Regardless of whether this is true, these vocals blend so seamlessly with Mac's, and bring "I Can See" to new heights of dreaminess.

Quotable Lyrics

Now I'm switchin' location
'Cause Heaven too far when you live in the basement
I'm lookin' for balance, I'm in an oasis
Well, I need somebody to save me
Before I drive myself crazy

Frank Ocean has been confirmed as the Sunday headliner of Coachella this year. Perhaps he will a bring custom merch booth to the desert as he did when touring Blonde in 2017.

Eminem, Q-Tip, Royce Da 5'9, Black Thought, & Denaun Go In On "Yah Yah'

Eminem shocked the world when he dropped off the surprise album Music To Be Murdered By this week. The project is being praised across the hip-hop spectrum as a triumphant return to form for Em. The project contains plenty of spot on features, but none as lyrical as the combination of Royce Da 5'9, Black Thought, and Q-Tip. Those three legends and Eminem join forces on "Yah Yah," which is produced by D-12 member Denaun.

The instrumental is a mix of nostalgic boom-bap and modern hip-hop and serves as a posse cut that is sure to get the crowd moving. Royce kicks off the lyrical massacre and is followed by Black Thought, who unleashes a verse that could shake the world. Q-Tip takes control of the chorus, employing his smooth, cool guy vibes to slide over the hook. This is real hip-hop at its finest.

Quotable Lyrics
I'm the rap Pernell Whitaker, the honorable minister
Leavin' every amateur inoperable, I finished 'em
Makin' plaques outta they head like dead venison
Used to be the bad lieutenant with M-Illitant
Spillin' over fabulous jams my man Dilla sent
Rap speak for me, I am the ventriloquist
