Massive Explosion Devastates South L.A. After LAPD Seizes Illegal Fireworks: Report

The Los Angeles Police Department is facing heavy scrutiny after an explosion rocked a residential neighborhood in South L.A. On Wednesday (June 30), multiple reports stated that police seized approximately 5,000 pounds of illegal fireworks and homemade explosives from a home. As a precaution, authorities reportedly said that they placed the fireworks in a bomb squad truck that was supposed to transport them from the scene to be destroyed with the help of Cal Fire, but instead, the truck exploded.

There were reportedly at least 16 people who were injured at the scene and several homes were devastated as windows were blown out. According to ABC7 News in Los Angeles, authorities are currently determining if many of those homes are structurally sound.

Several of the injured were first responders, but reports state six civilians were hurt and three were noted as having "serious injuries." ABC News reports, "One man, identified as Arturo Cejas III, was arrested on suspicion of possessing fireworks and destructive devices and also on suspicion of child endangerment because two children were found at the home, police said."

The frightening explosion was captured from multiple angles and after the footage was shared online, many in the public questioned why authorities wowuld seize the fireworks and store them in a bomb squad unit while not immediately removing the potential hazard from the neighborhood. Biz Markie Has Not Passed Away, Family Releases Statement On False Rumors

Too often, many celebrities go viral after news regarding their passing has gone viral. In many cases, those rumors are untrue, and Biz Markie seems to be the latest victim of gossip that spread like wildfire. On Wednesday (June 30) evening, tragic news regarding the alleged death of the beloved "Just a Friend" icon began to circulate, and soon, news outlets were reporting that the 57-year-old rapper had passed away. 

However, within an hour, those close to Markie surfaced online to condemn the rumors while offering updates about his health. "Folks, @BizMarkie has NOT died," tweeted journalist Roland Martin. "I have been in contact with sources who are texting and talking to his wife."

"My source talked to Biz TODAY," Martin continued. "Per his wife, Biz HAS NOT passed away. Please stop responding to non-credible sources. This hurts the family, friends and fans." Not long after these tweets were fired off, news outlets began deleting their articles about Biz Markie's death. After a Twitter user stated that Martin spoke with Markie directly, Martin returned to clarify.

"No, I did not talk to @BizMarkie today. My source, an industry legend, did. And my source was texting his wife ONE MINUTE before I sent the tweet. Biz's wife have me permission to send the tweet correcting this erroneous story," he said. Later, an official statement was released by the rapper's loved ones.

The statement reads:

"The news of Biz Markie's passing is not true. Biz is still under medical care, surrounded by professionals who are working hard to provide the best healthcare possible. Biz's wife and family are touched by the outpouring of love and admiration from his friends, peers and fans alike. At this time, we ask for your continued thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Last July, the rapper was reportedly hospitalized for weeks following a stroke, and later, his rep came forward to deny rumors that Markie was in a coma. We wish nothing but the best for Biz Markie. Read through the posts below.

On Thursday (July 1), dvsn and Ty Dolla $ign kicked off the month with a new single "I Believed It," and it hosts a posthumous appearance by Miller.

On their Instagram page, dvsn shared behind-the-scenes moments with Miller in the studio, and the arrival of "I Believed It" came along with a huge announcement for the duo. Ty Dolla $ign and dvsn will be releasing a project together and it will reportedly come courtesy of OVO Sound. This isn't the first time that these artists have collaborated, but it will exciting to hear how their sounds will blend together on a joint album.

Damian Lillard Isn't Too Serious About Trade Request

Upon getting bounced from the first round for the second season in a row, Blazers star Damian Lillard's loyalty finally seemed to be put to the test. The name itself has practically held a force field around it when it comes to trade rumors: everybody knows this guy wants to stay in Portland. 

After years of what seemed like a better chance of the guy becoming a commercial rapper before ever leaving Rip City, trade rumors began swirling around the internet following disagreements on their coaching search. With hopes of seeking Jason Kidd to lead their locker room, who was just recently introduced as the Mavericks' new head coach, the Blazers' front office ultimately decided to hire former Finals MVP Chauncey Billups.

Coming off his position as an ESPN analyst, the former Piston's sexual assault allegations from 1997 began to resurface, oddly pitting Lillard against nothing but backlash. This did not do them any favors, as trade talk began swirling up even more.

Although, to the delight of Oregonians, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that his sources tell him the All-Star is not seriously demanding a trade, nor is he even passively seeking it. Following a Twitter interaction between Dame and a user who claimed he had a hand in Billups's hiring, the former responded saying, "Really? I was asked what coaches I like of the names I “heard” and I named them. Sorry I wasn’t aware of their history I didn’t read the news when I was 7/8yrs old. I don’t support Those things … but if this the route y’all wana come at me… say less." It's heinous to accuse someone of adhering to something they were blind to, but what else is Twitter for?

As of right now, the Blazers' future may not seem too bright; but, they should certainly avoid trading for Ben Simmons before making it any darker. Yes, those rumors are real.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Hyperextends Left Knee, Exits Game 4

On Tuesday, Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals got absolutely shaken up when it was confirmed at the last minute that the Atlanta Hawks' star point guard Trae Young would be unable to play due to injury. What could have been an unfortunate end to Atlanta's magical playoff run this year quickly became something else entirely. At half-time, the Hawks had surprisingly outscored the Bucks 51-38, but the biggest story of the night happened during the first stretch of the third quarter.

After unsuccessfully attempting to block a lob dunk by Clint Capela, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Capela both hit the floor hard, but clearly, something bad had just transpired because Antetokounmpo remained on the floor for several minutes. Eventually, Giannis was able to hobble off the hardwood, but he did not return to the game, which ultimately swung Atlanta's way and tied the series 2-2.

According to CBS Sports, Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a left knee hyperextension, and the Milwaukee Bucks star forward is expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday. No more details have been revealed so far, so Antetokounmpo's status for the remainder of the series is extremely questionable.

Despite Giannis' injury potentially giving the Hawks an opportunity to close out this series and advance to the NBA Finals, several players have offered their condolences for Antetokounmpo over social media, including Clint Capela and the also-injured Trae Young.

Moneybagg Yo intended to have the summer on smash with the release of A Gangsta's Pain but there's one song, in particular, that's been getting hella spins. "Wockesha," Moneybagg Yo's ode to the cup, has been on steady rotation over the past few months with the Memphis rapper recently performing the self-proclaimed "song of the year" during the 2021 BET Awards. 

This morning, Moneybagg Yo slid through with the official music video for "Wockesha." The lean-induced visuals opens up with Lil Wayne putting ice into a double-stacked styrofoam cup, mouthing his infamous lean rant from his Tim Westwood interview. "Wockesha" is personified by a beautiful woman, decked out in purple from head to toe. Bagg's hallucinating throughout the video as he continues seeing "Wockesha" in the form of a floating cup before he finally plunges into a pool of cough syrup.

BET Founder Robert L. Johnson Pleads For Reparations

Though he's in doubt that this check will ever come his way, television mogul Robert L. Johnson claims that the "new rendition" of reparations sweeping across the country is a mere ploy, coming in the form of education rather than spreading the wealth around and making up for decades upon decades of unjust.

According to Johnson's interview with Vice, these reparations come in countless forms: critical race theory being taught at numerous campuses, the housing program in Evanston, every corporation under the sun making donations in light of the murder of George Floyd, and so much more. In light of this, he says "That’s what’s happening to the reparations—it’s been cut up into small pieces of things that look and feel like, ‘We want to end systemic racism, we want to end police brutality and shootings and to provide financing to Black small business owners,’”.

The BET owner pins what’s going on at the moment as “placebo paternalism,” meaning it’s only meant to look good and hope to make you feel good. To quote Johnson, he says, “Reparations had two components: The first was atonement, and the other was monetary,” “With no doubt whatsoever, it was supposed to come from the government representing the people of the country. It was reimbursement, or recompense if you will, for the harm.”

He goes on to say that whatever the country is currently doing as form of repayment is merely an attempt to fix the racist foundation that the States lie upon. On the other hand, how he and anyone in their right mind view reparations is as follows: “Reparations would require the entire country to … admit that the result of slavery has been 200 years of systemic racism and for that reason Black folks have been denied $13-15 trillion of wealth."

Of course, Johnson is far from the first to mention this, as countless celebrities and citizens have voiced their opinions as well. In the meantime, the state of California is ramping up their one-of-a-kind slavery reparation task force, and people can only hope nothing but good arises from it.

Britney Spears' Father Jamie Doesn't Think It's His Fault That Britney's Life Is Miserable

Over the past year, countless Britney Spears fans have been hitting the streets of Los Angeles to protest the beloved pop star's conservatorship. After eagle-eyed fans thought that they saw secret distress signals in her social media posts, they started the "Free Britney" movement, which eventually inspired Hulu's Framing Britney Spears documentary. Although Britney initially undermined her situation by saying that she was "extremely happy" and "totally fine," the "...Baby One More Time" singer recently revealed that she is "traumatized" from her conservatorship.

According to TMZ, Jamie Spears has decided to point the finger at Britney's current personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery, who Jamie apparently believes was appointed during a time when Britney did not have the mental capacity to make decisions about her medical treatment.

Legal docs reportedly reveal that "Ms. Montgomery has been fully in charge of Ms. Spears day-to-day personal care and medical treatment, and Ms. Montgomery has made all decisions related to those matters." Still, Jamie Spears reportedly believes that Britney's allegations should be taken extremely seriously by the court, so he is advocating for an investigation into the integrity of the conservatorship.

According to TMZ, Jamie Spears' lawyer echoes his concerns, saying, "It is not acceptable for Conservators or the Court to do nothing in response to Ms. Spear's testimony."

Rapper Ralo is spending his fourth straight summer behind the wall, speaking about his incarceration in a recent post on Instagram. The Gucci Mane-affiliated artist has been calling on high-level politicians, including President Biden, to commute his sentence and allow him to head back home to his family. As we wait for updates on his case, Ralo emotionally told his followers that he would never take the stand and tell on anybody close to him, referencing Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine, who infamously snitched on his partners. 

"PLEASE KNOW THAT I COULDVE BEEN HOME LIKE 69 WITH MY MILLIONS," he wrote in the post.

After his message was reported by DJ Akademiks, a close friend of 6ix9ine, the rapper caught wind of the post and responded in the comments, asking why people get so riled up when he gets involved with other rappers when they name-drop him.

Previously, 6ix9ine was been engaged in a heated feud with Lil Durk, antagonizing the rapper by reminding him constantly of all the trauma he's endured in recent years. 6ix9ine has attacked Durk with disrespectful insults about his older brother OTF DThang, who died of a gunshot wound a few weeks ago, and King Von, Durk's artist who was killed last year.

YNW Melly's "No Love" Music Video Calls On Viewers To End Racism

Although he is still fighting for his life and freedom following being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, YNW Melly has reportedly been in good spirits as of late. Fredo Bang has confirmed that the Florida artist is working on a new album, and ever since then, fans have been waiting for new music from the incarcerated rapper. 

Recently, the Melly v. Melvin artist returned with a new music video for his Ar'mon & Trey and 100K Track-assisted single "No Love." The video marks YNW Melly's latest music video to not feature him any footage, but it definitely compensates for Melly's absence with shocking slavery-themed visuals. As seen in DJ Akademik's post below, the video finds Ar'mon & Trey and 100K Track evoking the slave-era imagery with old-fashioned clothing, white overseers, and shots of the rappers in pillories.

At the end of the music video, the polarizing imagery of Antebellum-era slavery that was present throughout the "No Love" video is contrasted by a modern-day example of prejudice. While filming the music video, the production is interrupted by a "Karen" archetype who tries to shut down the video shoot because it's not what people "do" in Big Canoe.

The video concludes with the following statement, "Racism in America is very much alive. It's our job to end it."

Gunplay Shows The Long-Term Effects Of Cocaine Use

Rapper Gunplay started selling cocaine when he was sixteen, opening up about kicking his addiction to the drug in 2013. He's rapped about cocaine for much of his career, spitting rhymes about the street life and introducing his fanbase to his world, but his substance abuse has taken a toll on his overall health.

Cocaine is one of the most addictive substances around, so it's impressive that Gunplay was able to kick his addiction to the curb. His long-term cocaine use hasn't come without any side effects though, as the rapper revealed in an Instagram video this month.

A few weeks ago, Gunplay posted a video on his page, showing off the long-term effects of cocaine use. Every time he inhales from his nose, he makes a subtle whistling sound. Some fans have likened Gunplay's nose whistles to Thomas the Tank Engine or a tea kettle. Maybe he should consider sampling his whistles on his next song?

"Healing process is a muthafucka," wrote the 41-year-old rapper in his caption, admitting that his recovery has lasted for years as he attempts to live a clean lifestyle.

21 Savage Issues A Much-Needed Reminder

Despite arriving on the scene and being initially branded as a menacing and violent rapper, 21 Savage has proven that there is much more to his artistry and identity than his early output let on. As seen in his recent collaboration with J. Cole, the Savage Mode 2 artist has grown immensely as an emcee, and he continues to hold an annual back-to-school drive in Atlanta and be one of the most low-key philanthropists in Hip-Hop.

Throughout all of his work and accomplishments, 21 Savage stays relatively quiet about his achievements, but on Tuesday, the Atlanta rapper took a moment to issue a much-needed reminder.

Tierra Whack Says She's Quitting Music

Philadelphia rapper Tierra Whack, known for her creative performances, infectious positive energy, and wildly unique artistry, has announced that she's quitting music. The 25-year-old artist broke the news to fans with a shocking message on Instagram this week, telling them, "I quit. I'm done making music."

It's unclear why Whack has decided to prematurely end her music career. She's one of the most technically skilled lyricists in the game right now, showing off her skills on recent releases like "T.D" from Lil Yachty's 2020 album, and more. Her Whack World album was critically acclaimed with one-minute-long songs that introduced her colorful imagination to the planet, showing that Whack would be a force for years to come. This year, she released her single "Link" as a collaboration with Adobe Creative Cloud. She also recently came through with her new song "76" to show love to her hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lil Wayne To Star In Moneybagg Yo's "Wockesha" Music Video

Moneybagg Yo unleashed his fourth studio album A Gangsta's Pain back in April of this year and quickly became his highest-charting project to date. Preceded by the singles "Time Today" and "Hard for the Next" with Future, the project featured appearances from Kaash Paige, Polo G, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, and Pharrell Williams with further production credits from The Neptunes.

Despite not being released as a single, the album's fourth track "Wockesha" has quickly become a fan favorite and one of the project's most popular songs. The track samples Lil Wayne's famous "what's in my cup" monologue and samples DeBarge's 1983 track "Stay with Me." Likely propelled by its unanticipated viral popularity, Moneybagg announced a forthcoming visual for the track starring Weezy himself. 

"Aye I been tryna put the cup down for a minute but, honestly, it ain't nobody's business what's in my cup, what's in your cup, what's in their cup, it's your cup, drink it. So whatever the hell was in my cup the only reaction I did was got more popular, more successful, did a lot more things than I've ever done, I probably should pick that cup back up," explains Weezy in the preview of the "Wockesha" visual shared to his Instagram page on Tuesday (June 29).

Quavo & YK Osiris Roast Mustard After Beating Him In A Game Of Basketball

The debate about who should be crowned the best hooper in Hip-Hop is an ongoing one because of the sheer amount of rappers who are also talented basketball players. Both J. Cole and Sheck Wes have achieved varying success as professional basketball players, and artists like Common and Quavo have showcased their skills during the NBA's annual celebrity All-Star game.

Thanks to a recently surfaced video on Twitter, it now looks like fans can safely cross Mustard's name off of that list because the producer and his team appear to have gotten destroyed by Quavo and YK Osiris' team in a friendly game of basketball.

The clip, which has already been viewed over 68,000 times, starts off with Osiris taunting Mustard as he sits down on a foldout chair and takes a phone call. "Man, n*gga lost," he can be heard saying from behind the camera. "Stupid a** n*gga, you dumb a** n*gga! Stupidest motherf*cker man! N*gga sorry as a motherf*cker man!"

As Osiris is roasting Mustard with some lighthearted basketball banter, Quavo comes through, points at Mustard, and starts laughing in his face. The playful situation is enough to get Mustard heated and on his feet, and after abruptly ending his phone call, Mustard can be heard repeating, "It was 1 and 1," perhaps arguing that Mustard's team had one the first match against Quavo and YK Osiris' team.

The narrator of the video then yells at Mustard, saying "Shut the f*ck up!" The final box score reveals Quavo and YK Osiris' team outscored Mustard's 14-8, which makes the video even funnier. See it for yourself below.

GTA 6 Will Reportedly Only Release In 2025: Fans React

Grand Theft Auto V has never stopped earning money for Rockstar Games over the years and as a result, twelve years will reportedly pass before the next iteration of the beloved game. The world has been patiently waiting for news regarding the upcoming release of GTA 6, which has been teased for the last few years. A well-respected leaker in the video gaming community has officially hit us with some information about the upcoming release and it looks like we'll all need to wait a little bit longer, with the game slated for release in 2025.

Tom Henderson provided an update to his followers after having previously leaked information about the new Call of Duty and Battlefield games, hinting that we might be in for another three years of frustration as we wait for the next main-entry GTA game. Admitting that he's heard rumblings over the last few months and that he's not a go-to source for GTA news, Henderson said that the next game will have a Fortnite-like evolving map and will be set in a modern-day version of Vice City. 

Rockstar Games is reportedly waiting for video game consumers to get their hands on the new-generation consoles, like the PS5 and Xbox Series X, to maximize sales on GTA 6 before dropping. Since there's still a heavy demand for consoles, which sell out before even hitting physical shops, we're likely going to be waiting for a long time.

It's worth noting that this information has not been confirmed by Rockstar Games, but it has been reported by a number of highly reputable gaming sources.

Tyler, The Creator Reportedly Dropped $500k On His New Bellhop Chain & Pendant

Tyler, the Creator is fresh off the heels of releasing his latest studio album Call Me If You Get Lost. Already predicted to give the California native his best-selling opening week sales yet, the album is complete with features from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Drama, 42 Dugg, NBA YoungBoy, and more. 

He hit the stage over the weekend (June 27) to perform "LUMBERJACK" at the 2021 BET Awards, which marked his first time performing at the ceremony. On the red carpet, he sported a bellhop-inspired look that coincided with his new aesthetic for the new era. He also donned a shiny, gold and diamond-encrusted bellhop chain that reportedly cost the rapper half a million.

TMZ reports that the chain, which he debuted at the BET red carpet and the "JUGGERNAUT" music video, cost a total of $500k. Extensive work went behind crafting the chain and pendant, which was done by celeb jeweler Alex Moss. The famed jeweler tells the publication that Tyler got in contact with him about 7 months ago to begin working on the piece, and it took him 4 months just to find the right colored diamonds for it. 

The publication furthers that Tyler gave Alex inspiration for what he wanted, and then they worked on fine-tuning the design together. The pendant is a bellhop carrying two suitcases, which literally looks like a mini Tyler. Check out the chain up close below. 

As for the meaning of the icy chain, Alex explains that Tyler didn't disclose it with him as he wanted it to remain a mystery. The piece reportedly boasts 186 carats in diamonds, 60 carats in sapphires, plus 23,515 of the stones were hand-set. The suitcases on the pendant even open and close. For the work that went into curating the piece, it's no wonder it carried such a hefty sticker price. 

Back in his IGOR era, the hitmaker purchased a pendant of his album and his wig-bearing alter ego. The piece was also made with a variety of different diamonds and of 18k gold. The "LUMBERJACK" rapper quite clearly enjoys the finer things in life.

Kodak Black Seemingly Has A Message For Jackboy After Throwing $100K Into Ocean

Kodak Black and his artist Jackboy appear to have fallen out. The rapper and his Sniper Gang signee have been seemingly sneak-dissing one another on social media this week, continuing overnight as Jackboy refused to say anything unkind about the "Tunnel Vision" rapper. Kodak has taken a different route though, airing out all of his issues with the artist after seemingly having a disagreement about money.

After claiming to have made $1 million off of Jackboy, Kodak threw away some of that money in a symbolic move, taking a late-night boat ride and tossing $100,000 overboard. Fabolous Believes An Opportunity Is Better Than Someone Giving You Money

If someone offered you money or an opportunity to better yourself, which would you take? Fabolous recently launched a debate about this very topic after his recent appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game was released, and during the conversation, he discussed which option, according to him, was more important than the other.

"The most somebody can give you, not just give you money, 'cause somebody give you money, you gon' spend it, then you back to needing money," said the rapper. "If you don't spend it right."

Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer Denies Sexual Assault Allegations: Report

The MLB is dealing with a scandal after a star player has been accused of sexual assault. It's reported that Trevor Bauer, the starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, is under investigation in Los Angeles and his alleged victim was granted a temporary restraining order against him. According to TMZ, the woman's attorney, Marc Garelick, told the outlet that she "sought and obtained an order for Protection from the Court against Mr. Trevor Bauer, under the Domestic Violence Prevention Act."

Garelick added, "The order is a result of a recent assault that took place at the hands of Mr. Bauer where Ms. Hill suffered severe physical and emotional pain." The alleged incident reportedly took place sometime earlier this year.

"Our goal is to keep Mr. Bauer from contacting our client in any way possible," Garelick added, also noting that he expects criminal charges to be filed. We anticipate there will be criminal action against Mr. Bauer, and it is our hope law enforcement will take our client’s allegations and case seriously."

However, Bauer's agent, Jon Fetterolf, quickly responded to the report of the alleged sexual assault with a lengthy statement. Fetterolf claims that Bauer and the woman engaged in consensual rough sex and insisted that they have proof that she requested certain taboo behaviors to be performed in the bedroom.

"Mr. Bauer had a brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship initiated by [the accuser] beginning in April 2021. We have messages that show [the accuser] repeatedly asking for 'rough' sexual encounters involving requests to be 'choked out' and slapped in the face."

"In both of their encounters, [the accuser] drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer’s residence in Pasadena, Calif. where she went on to dictate what she wanted from him sexually and he did what was asked. Following each of her only two meetings with Mr. Bauer, [the accuser] spent the night and left without incident, continuing to message Mr. Bauer with friendly and flirtatious banter. In the days following their second and final encounter, [the accuser] shared photos of herself and indicated that she had sought medical care for a concussion. Mr. Bauer responded with concern and confusion, and [the accuser] was neither angry nor accusatory."

Fetterolf added that Bauer and the woman haven't even seen each other in six weeks, nor have they communicated in a month. He accuses her of making fraudulent accusations that are "baseless, defamatory, and will be refuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Swizz Beatz Denies Rejecting Chaka Khan & Stephanie Mills "Verzuz"

What began as a meeting of creatives hoping to pass the time during quarantine has turned into a lucrative business for Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. Verzuz is shifting how veteran artists share their music, especially those who struggle to find footing in today's everchanging culture. The series has become a celebration of innovators from Scott Storch to the Isley Brothers to the upcoming matchup with Bobby Brown and Keith Sweat this week, Verzuz is the place where artists want to showcase their talents, but Stephanie Mills claims they aren't interested in her and Chaka Khan.

Mills is one of the most celebrated R&B singers in history who has acted on the Broadway stage, had several No. 1 hits, and has been making music since the 1960s. There were rumors that she and her equally-accomplished friend and fellow artist Chaka Khan would make an appearance on Verzuz, but Mills shut down the gossip.

"We will not be doing Verzuz," Mills said while on Cocktails With Queens. "We were in talks to do Verzuz and they decided to go another way. They were not interested in Chaka and I doing Verzuz."

The hosts seemed surprised to hear that these two icons were allegedly snubbed by Verzuz officials and Vivica Fox insisted it would have been a "diva concert" unlike any other. The women suggested that maybe the powers that be wanted Mills to be paired with someone else, but the singer stated that Chaka Khan would be the only person she would share the stage with.

Syleena Johnson chimed in, adding that both Mills and Chaka have catalogs filled with hits, and some people who have made appearances "don't hold a candle" to them. "Today, people don't really respect the R&B people from back in the day," said Mills. "They really have no respect for that."

After Fox Soul shared the clip of the interview, Swizz slid in their comments to refute Mills's claims. "That’s not the truth with all due respect and Love[praying hands emoji] Why would we ever not be interested in 2 amazing Queens [praying hands emoji][shrug emoji] I have no idea who told them this info." Thousands of people took to social media to complain about Lil Nas X, including Benzino who called for the Source Awards to make a return. "That sh*t BET pulled yesterday was lame asf," he wrote in a text image.

Quentin Tarantino Says He Knew Harvey Weinstein "Was Making Unwanted Advances"

Last year, disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault, but that isn't the end of his legal battle. Earlier this month, Weinstein learned that he would be moved from New York to California to face 11 new charges, all related to sexual assault, as well. There have reportedly been murmurs about his alleged inappropriate behaviors in the industry for years, and now that Weinstein has been called out and locked up, some creatives are coming forward with their firsthand stories—including Quentin Tarantino.

The famed filmmaker recently sat down with Joe Rogan and discussed a myriad of topics, including Weinstein's alleged illicit affairs. Tarantino called Weinstein a "f*cked up father figure" and suggested that the producer had a reputation of being unprofessional in certain settings.

Jackboy Refuses To Diss Kodak Black: "That's My Brother At The End Of The Day"

Earlier today (June 29), there were hints that Kodak Black and his protegé had some sort of disagreement and Kodak went as far as to say that he would no longer be taking on new artists to his label. "These n*ggas ungrateful," he tweeted mysteriously. Some believed that Jackboy bit back with lyrics pulled from Kevin Gates's "Vouch," but he claimed on Livestream that he won't be addressing private matters with the public.

"I ain't answering sh*t," he told his viewers. "I ain't got sh*t bad to say about people. You ain't gon' get that from me... You ain't gon' have no video of me on YouTube."

"Nah, that's my brother at the end of the day," Jackboy continued. "Hey, see your number, unblock me off Instagram, see your number, and I can holla at you. All that other sh*t... Everybody know like, as far as Day Ones, Jackboy a real ass n*gga. So, I'm not gonna go in detail or explain sh*t to nobody. I don't care. I do not care about Instagram that much."

"F9" Breaks Pandemic Box Office Record With Appearance From Cardi B

F9, the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, hit theaters, on Friday (June 25), and is expected to break the Box Office pandemic record with an estimated $70m domestically during its first release weekend. The film is the first in the series to feature Cardi B as the character Leysa.

As for worldwide figures, F9 is expected to take home $405 million in total, much higher than the $225 million it cost to produce. 

“I love the fact that I’m representing such a powerful, strong woman,” Cardi recently said of her character. “She’s just that bitch. Leysa’s such a badass.”

Director Justin Lin said he loved working with Cardi when asked about her performance on set.

Curren$y Explains How Diddy Singled Him Out Because Of His Weed

On the latest episode of High Tales, the video series introduced by JAY-Z's cannabis brand MONOGRAM, rapper Curren$y spoke about his love of weed, telling anecdotes about some of the funniest things that have happened to him while he was high. Before revealing the recipe to his munchies-quenching grilled cheese sandwich, the cannabis connoisseur spoke about how he met Diddy because of how strong his weed was.

"If you smell something cutting through the room, you know that that person is of a certain cloth and did whatever they had to do to acquire that bag," explains Curren$y on High Tales. "I know that's how I met Puff Daddy. I met Diddy like that at fucking SXSW because of the joint that I lit up. On my way to perform, I just [blew some smoke] and I'm sure he was going to do something else at Fader Fort, do some real Diddy shit, but he was like, nah, where is that train going? Spitta also spoke about his early Cash Money days, which included him impersonating Birdman when a woman asked for his autograph. Derek Chauvin May Reach Federal Plea Deal: Report

Convicted murderer Derek Chauvin is reportedly close to reaching a federal plea deal after making a cryptic comment to the family of George Floyd during his sentencing trial. According to WCCO, a local Minnesota news outlet, the disgraced former police officer is nearing a deal with federal prosecutors about getting a 20-to-25 year sentence to run concurrently with the 22.5-year sentence he was handed last week.

The deal would ensure he spends his sentence in federal prison as opposed to state prison, and it would reportedly prevent him from getting a life sentence in another trial. This news comes following the strange comment Chauvin made to Floyd's family.

"Due to legal matters, I’m not able to give a full formal statement... I give my condolences to the Floyd family, there’s gonna be some other information in the future that will be of interest and I hope these will give you some peace of mind," he said before his sentencing.

Walmart Pulls Yeezy Foam Runner Knockoffs Following Kanye West Lawsuit

Kanye West's Yeezy venture with Adidas has gone on to become one of the most profitable sneaker collaborations in history. In 2020 alone, sales for the sneakers reached an impressive $1.7 billion in annual revenue, solidifying the immense success of Kanye's brainchild with Adidas.  

With such a massively successful sneaker empire, it's no wonder corporations have tried to mimic its success. As we previously reported, Ye and the Yeezy company filed a lawsuit against Walmart for selling fake Adidas Yeezy foam runners on its website. According to new reports, the multinational retail corporation has since pulled the replicas from their site.

These kicks were previously sold by Walmart online and were an exact clone of Yeezy's unique design that sells for $80 USD. 

Following the news of legal action being taken, the retail chain issued a statement clarifying that the shoes were being sold by a third party and not by Walmart directly. “We take allegations like this seriously and are reviewing the claim. We will respond in court as appropriate after we have been served with the complaint," said the statement.

It is worth noting that there are plenty of Yeezy knockoffs being listed on other sites, but Ye and his company have yet to take legal action against them.

Big Jade's "Pressure" Goes Purple

Pinned as "guttural" by Stereogum, Houston rapper Big Jade has got a permanent scowl on her face that you could hear from a mile away. And it's not circumstantial. Whether local H-Town DJs wanted to slow up her most recent project, Pressure, to make her sound a bit more humdrum and friendlier, that was hopeless.

Having said that, it's truly what this album brings: pressure. You can hear in her voice how unenthused she is by the fact people even want to listen to her music as if she already knows everyone is. And while that's quite evidently not the case, there's never an excuse for one not to talk their shit as she does here.

With songs like the David Banner-cut "Dem Girlz" and the pitter-patter running throughout "Gucci Bag," produced by fellow Houston native DJ Chose, it was only right that an album influenced so much by the city got love right back from it. These tracks, as well as "All Gas No Breaks," are a mere trio of standouts on a project that was simply begging to get dripped up and draped out.

Ralo Reflects On 4th Summer In Prison: "My Girl, My Daughter, & My Momma Cry Everyday"

Ralo reflected on his fourth summer spent in prison for a non-violent drug offense, on Instagram, Tuesday, explaining that his family cries every day while he is gone. The rapper was booked for charges of trafficking and conspiring to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana back in 2018.

Despite numerous staples of the music industry, including Drake, Lil Baby, T.I, Meek Mill, Killer Mike, and more signing a petition for President Joe Biden to grant Ralo a pardon, he has yet to see the light of day. Earlier this year, VladTV reported that Ralo pleaded guilty to at least one of the charges.

Cassius Jay & Young Thug Release Long-Anticipated Collaboration "Personal"

The world has heard little pieces of Cassius Jay and Young Thug's collaborative single "Personal" for years and finally, the full track is available on streaming services.

Initially popping up as a song preview during the Jeffrey days, "Personal" has been floating around for a minute. While many fans of Young Thug assumed that the collaboration would never see an official release, especially considering how long it had been shelved, it's finally available more readily for people to stream on Apple Music.

Asian Doll Clarifies Why She Didn't Attend The BET Awards

The 2021 BET Awards, which took place on Sunday night (June 27), was loaded with star-studded performances and appearances. A few of the most noteworthy moments of the night include Cardi B's pregnancy bombshell announcement during her surprise performance with Migos, Lil Nas X's fiery performance of his hit "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," and much, much more. 

While there were many famous faces in attendance, fans couldn't help but notice that a few were missing. Asian Doll was one such face, and supporters of the rapper suspected that she had been purposely excluded from the festivities. Despite the speculation, the self-proclaimed Queen Von took to Twitter on Monday (June 28) to explain her absence. 

She reassuringly told fans that although she knows they are “(used) to seeing me,” at the ceremony, there was no foul play as to why she wasn't in attendance. “I feel like @AsianDaBrattt had the biggest female rap song and should of been nominated,” the fan suggested. “F**k the charts. At this point mfs behind the scenes is hating. #NUNNADETS**T.”

Asian then made it clear that her decision to not attend the ceremony was her own. “I didn’t want to attend the awards this year,” she began her tweet. “I know y’all use to seeing me I’ll go next year just for y’all tho.”

The Dallas native didn't go further into detail as to why she chose to skip out on this year's ceremony, but it may be because she's hyperfocused on her music right now. The former 1017 Records signee expressed interest in signing with Yo Gotti's record label back in March. 

Perhaps if things do work out, she'll be in attendance at next year's ceremony.
