Larsa Pippen Seemingly Subtweets Kanye West About Abortion

The subtweets are in full effect over on Twitter. There's something brewing between Kanye West and Larsa Pippen, and spectators don't think it's anything good. During one of Kanye's recent Twitter rants, the rapper mysteriously dropped Larsa Pippen and Drake's names. He didn't offer up any context to the who-what-where-when-why of his tweets, just their first names before he deleted his messages. People have stormed social media with their conspiracy theories about Kanye's relationship with both public figures, but until any of them speak about it, we're all left to wonder.

More recently, Kanye West returned to his favorite social media platform and shared a few thoughts about abortion. The political topic is often a polarizing one, but Kanye has made his anti-abortion stance clear. He's stated that there was a point in time when he and wife Kim Kardashian discussed having an abortion when Kim was pregnant with their firstborn North, and it seems that it's still a sensitive issue for Kanye.

Later, Larsa popped up on Twitter, as well, and people believed that she was addressing her rumored best friend Kim Kardashian's husband. Logic Says Joe Budden's Harsh Words "Make People Want To Kill Themselves"

No one can really pinpoint why Joe Budden has such a seething hatred for Logic. The podcast host has regularly spoken ill of the No Pressure rapper, occasionally calling out his skills on the mic. Budden has emphasized that Logic is one of the worst rappers to ever step into the game, and he doubled down on that sentiment when Logic recently announced his retirement. Later, Budden apologized on his podcast, adding that he was projecting some of his personal issues onto Logic.

While chatting about Budden's dislike for him on Hot 97 recently, Logic admitted that he wasn't sure where the beef stemmed from. “He doesn’t like me for whatever reason. He wants to say I’m not Black enough, I’m not good enough. He’s a person who’s led to part of my depression, some of my darkest spaces." Then Logic almost directly told Budden, "Your words, they make people want to kill themselves, bro."

Trump Says He Will Use Executive Action To Ban TikTok As Soon As This Weekend

There have been rumors about TikTok and it's connection to other countries as spyware disguised as a friendly social media app. President Donald Trump has previously spoken about clamping down on TikTok, and he reiterated his stance on Friday (July 31) when he declared that he would make it his goal to eradicate the app in America. Those TikTok stars are shaking in their boots.

“As far as TikTok is concerned we’re banning them from the United States,” Trump said, adding that the action to remove the app is a "severance." He didn't specify under what order he would be making the move, but just that it would be done. “Well, I have that authority. I can do it with an executive order or [something like] that."

This comment comes after reports circulated on Friday (July 31) that Microsoft had been holding meetings with TikTok owner ByteDance, a Chinese company. It's stated that Microsoft is interested in purchasing the megahit social media app, but what became of their meeting with ByteDance is unknown at this time. Trump made it clear to reporters that he didn't support the deal, if one has been made.

TikTok has been a platform that anti-Trump protestors have used against the sitting American president, and it's reported that they played a central part in making sure his supporters were unable to obtain tickets to his recent Oklahoma rally.

Somebody better buy stock on Lil Baby because he goes up in value daily. Undeniably, one of the hottest rappers in the game right now is Quality Control hitmaker Lil Baby. The Atlanta artist seems to strike gold—or platinum, even—with every release, and he recognizes his value. In a clip that went viral, Lil Baby repeated his lyrics where he stated he makes "200 a occasion," and we know he means thousands.

He also tweeted that if a rapper doesn't have a certain amount of money, he feels offended if they even approach him with a request for a verse. "Ima feel offended if you want a verse from me but don't got a 100k... 'respect my hustle,'" Baby tweeted. "100k cheap by the way do your streaming research."

It looks as if the price tag just went up, because Baby is back with another announcement about the value of his hustle. He sent out a tweet about his viral video where he was listening to his song "Emotionally Scarred" where he rapped, "Jumpin' up on stages / I get two hundred an occasion." On Friday, he addressed the chatter about his bars and stated that things have changed. "And I don’t want 200 a occasion I made that song a min ago 🤷🏽‍♂️." We can only imagine how much "occasions" are running or Lil Baby these days.

Joycelyn Savage Charges Dropped After Azriel Clary Doesn't Cooperate With Police

As R. Kelly awaits his trials in multiple states, his former "girlfriends" were involved in a violent altercation. Back in January, Azriel Clary was at the home she shared with Joycelyn Savage and the incarcerated music icon, removing some of her items. During the move, Joycelyn returned and was unhappy to see that Azriel brought men into their home, something that she claimed was disrespectful. The two young women began arguing, and what began as a verbal spat turned into a physical fight. Joycelyn was arrested at the scene.

On Friday (July 31), the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Joycelyn Savage can breathe a little easier because the domestic battery charges against her have been dropped. The outlet stated that Azriel refused to cooperate with authorities and “indicated on several occasions that she did not wish to proceed with the prosecution of this case."

Prosecutors didn't believe that they had enough evidence to move forward with a case without Azriel's cooperation. Meanwhile, Kelly's first trial is reportedly scheduled to begin sometime in September and the singer remains in custody at the downtown Metropolitan Correctional Center. Azriel has repeatedly vocalized in recent months that she misses and cares for Joycelyn and hopes that her dedication to R. Kelly will soon come to an end.

Nicki Minaj's Husband Kenneth Petty Gets Permission To Attend Baby's Birth: Report

It looks as if Kenneth Petty will be able to see his child being born. Recently, the Barbs lit up social media after Nicki Minaj shared pictures from her pregnancy photoshoot. The world awaits the birth of Nicki's first child but on the homefront, the rapper and her husband had a few legal issues to take care of. Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, was recently arrested after he moved from California from New York and failed to register as a sex offender in the Golden State. Back in New York, Petty had been convicted of the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995 and spent four years behind bars.

Petty's pretrial stipulations in California include a curfew and travel restrictions, so it was reported by TMZ that Petty recently asked a judge to modify his terms so that he could witness his child being born. It seemed like a longshot, but the outlet followed up their initial report to say that a judge approved his request. Now, if Nicki Minaj goes into labor or has their baby outside of his curfew hours, he can legally be by her side outside of their home. It's believed that what helped his case was that the U.S. Attorney's Office didn't try to oppose the request.

It's unclear exactly how far along Nicki is in her pregnancy, but by the look of her growing baby bump, she doesn't have much longer before Baby Petty is here.

Wyclef Jean Explains Why Will.i.am Is The Only Artist He Wants To Do A "Verzuz" With

It's clear that Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and their entire Verzuz team have a hit series on their hands, and we're sure that when they open outside back up for the U.S., we'll see a Verzuz tour roll out. Until that time, millions of music fans will just have to continue to tune into Apple TV and Instagram for their friendly battles, the next of which will host 2 Chainz and Rick Ross. During a chat with Talib Kweli for his People's Party podcast, Wyclef Jean revealed that he's open to doing Verzuz, and he has one particular artist in mind.

"I was approached, definitely, and it's so funny, I have a freestyle that I did and then they took the freestyle and they put it on Verzuz," Wyclef shared. "I think, for me, the person who resembles me the most in the background with the studio that I fully know that they do is probably like, will.i.am. For multiple reasons."

Wyclef not only said that will.i.am was like a little brother, but Clef also added that he was responsible for producing one of Black Eyed Peas records before Fergie joined the group. "Will strategically was like that nerd like me," Wyclef added. "He's the guy behind the schemes so for me, he's incredible. For me it's more—it's not about hit songs or whatever. It's about the mechanicals, the little things that people don't see. I think they'd probably be shocked with the amount of information."

The Fugees icon recognized that people wanted to see him do a Verzuz with someone like Akon, but he said with an artist like Akon "we'd just be singing songs." Naya Rivera’s Makes Last TV Appearance On Netflix’s “Sugar Rush”

Naya Rivera will appear on Season 3 Netflix’s Sugar Rush, filmed prior to her passing earlier this month. The appearance is speculated to be her final television appearance. 

The late 33-year-old Glee star filmed an episode of Sugar Rush as a guest judge back in February before coronavirus pandemic began and halted production. The episode is reportedly the last thing she shot in Hollywood. The actress drowned earlier this month while on a boat trip with her 4-year-old son Josey in Lake Piru. It was reported on the 30th that she was laid to rest on July 24th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles. 

After a disagreement between Netflix and Rivera’s manager Gladys Gonzelez, the decision was made to continue the production of the episode and dedicate it to the late actress. 

Rivera’s ex-husband wrote a beautiful tribute to the late actress last week, speaking publicly for the first time since her death. "This is so unfair...there's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts,” he wrote. “I can't believe this is life now."

Big Sean also penned a lovely tribute to his ex-fiancee, writing, "Rest In Peace Naya, God Bless your Soul! Thank you for blessing us all with your talent and presence. you are a hero!"

Vado Pens "#UsToo" Message After Video Shows Tahiry Throwing Apples At Him

The grip seen around the world has Vado explaining himself once again. Recently, a clip from an episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition went viral after it showed rapper Vado getting upset with girlfriend Tahiry during a group therapy session. He's seen jumping up and grabbing Tahiry by the front of her shirt as he yells at her. Only the show's host, Dr. Ish, came to her rescue and pulled Vado off of Tahiry before walking him out of the room.

Vado later stated on social media that "nobody was hit" and asked for viewers to watch the entire episode to see the context of the situation. What was shown was Tahiry getting upset with Vado prior to their viral altercation and throwing two apples at him in anger. The public returned to social media to once again criticize the couple. So, Vado shared another explanation on Instagram.

NoName Criticizes Beyonce’s New Film: “African Aesthetic Draped In Capitalism”

NoName has never been one to hold her opinion on trending cultural moments. After her famous squabble with J. Cole about the role of Black elites and celebrities in the revolution, the rapper then went on to criticize Beyonce for their at-odds views on capitalism and pro-Blackness. Now, NoName is taking aim at Bey’s new visual album Black Is King that premiered overnight on Disney+ for its excessive displays of wealth and exploitation of the African aesthetic.

In a tweet published on Friday morning, the rapper sarcastically praised the lauded film. “We love an African aesthetic draped in capitalism,” she wrote. “Hope we remember the Black folks on the continent whose daily lives are impacted by US imperialism. If we can uplift the imagery, I hope we can uplift those who will never be able to access it. Black liberation is a global struggle.”

The 28-year-old Chicago MC then retweeted information about anti-government protests occurring in Zimbabwe including an Associated Press post about a prominent Zimbabwean journalist being arrested during the protests. 

Although the wry-delivery of the message may seem offputting, NoName’s purpose of the tweet was to criticize the use of the aesthetics of African countries while simultaneously ignoring the fight for systemic reform occurring on the ground right now. The message of Black Is King was surely an uplifting message for some, but ultimately it does not investigate the ongoing plight for social and systemic reform in many African nations.

Tamar Braxton Refutes Claim That WeTV Cut Ties With Her: Report

It looks like Tamar Braxton is calling foul on a recent report about her relationship with WeTV. Just yesterday (July 30), Tamar Braxton shared a series of tweets as she spoke about her recent health scare after she was hospitalized for an alleged suicide attempt. She was found on the floor of a hotel bathroom unresponsive by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, and yesterday, she broke her silence and spoke out about how WeTV aided in the decline of her mental state.

Today, Variety shared an exclusive report that WeTV, the network that hosts Braxton Family Values, has decided to end their relationship with the singer. The outlet didn't share the network's full statement but reported that they claimed they "will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network." However, it doesn't look like anyone sent Tamar Braxton the memo.

"LIES!! no one has talked to a lawyer, or to me, sent a flower or card, text to me or NAN!!!" Tamar reportedly wrote in a tweet. "THIS is the abuse and Lies I am talking about. This is not helping my mental state. They just won't stop until they see me out of my mind or dead." WeTV has yet to respond to this publicly.

Akon Defends Working with 6ix9ine: "His Side Wasn't Really Told"

There are a handful of artists who continue to support Tekashi 6ix9ine regardless of his scandalous past. The rapper has become a polarizing figure in the music industry after he turned federal informant against his Nine Trey gang associates. While 6ix9ine was behind bars, there was much speculation as to whether or not he would be welcomed back in the rap game following his release. The rapper proved to be a formidable force, even on house arrest, as he worked with artist slike Nicki Minaj and Akon.

When people learned that Akon planned on uniting with 6ix9ine musically and personally, the mogul received an onslaught of backlash. However, Akon took it all in stride and now claims that no one dropped him from their social circles because of his 6ix9ine association. In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Akon said that people need to remember that the music industry is a business.

"I don't recall losing any [contacts]. If I did, they ain't tell me," said Akon. "This is a business. If our personal relationship is affected by our business, then that ain't no real friendship." Akon and 6ix9ine previously previewed their forthcoming collaboration which is a spin on Akon's 2004 megahit "Locked Up." "I feel like, at the end of the day, his side wasn't really told and it still ain't really told, but I think it's more about people understanding why I made this record in the first place. This record, 'Locked Up,' was my personal experience and then it just touched a lot of real n*ggas that just happened to be locked up."

Kanye West Drops Off A Few More Thoughts About Abortion & The Black Community

It's unclear whether or not Kanye West will be on the presidential ballot for America's 2020 election, but while we wait on news about that, Ye continues to tweet away his thoughts. Earlier today (July 31), Kanye returned to Twitter following a tense reunion with his wife Kim Kardashian. He recently shared a few scathing comments about his family and mother-in-law, and later, Ye gave a public apology to Kim. However, this hasn't stopped Kanye West from speaking out about his anti-abortion stance—a topic that he cares about deeply.

Historically, Margaret Sanger, the person responsible for what we now know as Planned Parenthood, was a firm believer in eugenics. Simply, she, along with many others including Nazi Germany, believed that the human race could be perfected genetically by eradicating the less favorable groups to eventually breed a supreme, perfect human being (believed to be White). Kanye has spoken out about Sanger's use of abortion to do just that, and he tweeted a link to a New York Post article that stated Planned Parenthood in New York planned on removing Sanger's name from their clinic. He didn't pen a caption to that post, but he followed up in another.

"Over 22,500,000 black babies have been aborted over the past 50 years," Kanye wrote. He hasn't offered up any other conversation regarding this topic other than previously writing that he didn't understand why people were so concerned when he cried about almost aborting his daughter. Nike Air Presto "Naija" Pays Homage To Nigeria: Photos

Back in 2018, Nigeria took part in the FIFA World Cup and they were wearing some pretty incredible jerseys in the process. These "Naija" jerseys featured gorgeous green and white patterns that paid homage to the country's rich culture. While Nigeria wasn't able to go far in the tournament, there is no denying that these uniforms left a lasting impact on those who both support and come from the country. So much so that the Nigeria jersey was easily one of the most popular to come out of that particular World Cup cycle.

Now, Nike is coming out with a few sneakers that also contain the "Naija" aesthetic. One of those shoes is this green and black Nike Air Presto that will go very well with that Nigeria jersey in your closet. While the introductory track "Offline" finds the pair spitting up-tempo bars over a smooth banger, the subsequent "Pretty Thug" takes things back to the eighties for a bout of groovy thug luv.

And let's be honest, it's hard not to take note of a Nas feature, which transpires on album highlight "City On Lock." Over woodwind-based production, Dom, Hit-Boy, and Nas lace impressively rendered verses, the latter issuing a reminder of why he's among hip-hop's GOATs. For the most part, however, Also Known As remains Dom and Hit-Boy's show. It's clear both men have impressive chemistry, their respective cadences complementary to one another, their collaborative nature shining behind the boards. Strick Joins The "Yacht Club" With Young Thug & Ty Dolla $ign

We haven't heard from Strick in a while but today, he comes through with his latest single "Yacht Club," which features Young Thug and Ty Dolla $ign.

One of the lesser-utilized members of the YSL collective, Strick has been bubbling for the last few years. He's made some stand-out appearances on Young Thug's projects, including on "STS," but he hasn't been able to make too much noise as a solo artist. Perhaps "Yacht Club" will become his first major hit.

The track is a smooth listen, almost making for perfect listening on a boat-ride by the lake. It's a great summery single that will have you searching for the replay button so you can enjoy it to its full potential.

Beyoncé Releases New Visual Album "Black Is King"

It's New Music Friday and, as always, we've got some exciting drops on the docket. The biggest of them all happened to be from one of the living legends of our time, Beyoncé, who released her new visual album Black Is King. 

For the last several months, the singer had been teasing the release of her new film, which is exclusive to Disney+. Once again revolutionizing the way artists release music -- you'll recall she somewhat started the trend of surprise releases -- Black Is King is officially out now and people are raving about it and what it represents.

A story told from the voices of present-day Black people, Black Is King follows a young African king who gets cast out from his family and is thrust into our unforgiving world. He ends up using the guidance of his ancestors and his childhood love to make it back to his family. Of course, the story is supplemented by new music from Beyoncé herself.

As of now, it's currently only available on Disney+. If you're not signed up to the platform, you might want to give it a shot, just like you did with TIDAL when Queen Bey dropped Lemonade a few years ago.

Nyck Caution Delivers New EP "Open Flame"

Pro Era rapper and Beast Coast alumni Nyck Caution has returned with some new music, and while he's still sitting on that coveted follow-up to 2016's Disguise The Limit, he has since blessed fans with a brief EP called Open Flame. Boasting a reasonable five songs and guest appearances from fellow Beast Coast rapper Meechy Darko, Flipp Dinero, and Jake Luttrell, the project goes a long way in issuing a reminder of Caution's versatility. 

Introspective on the introductory "Demons Don't Take Off From Work," a slow-burning reflection on the desire to hustle and rise. Focused and loyal on "Famiglia," a highlight penned alongside the Flatbush Zombie's beloved baritone. Melodic and vulnerable on the emotional closer "Slippin Away," which finds him ruminating on his fears. Despite the relative brevity, Open Flame is enough to paint a vivid picture of Caution's artistry, a promising prelude to whatever full-length effort he ends up concocting. Future & Lil Uzi Vert Don't Drop New Tape & Fans Are Frustrated

Among the music releases last night, we were expecting Lil Uzi Vert and Future to come through with their collaborative mixtape. The two superstar rappers have been teasing something for the last little while, sharing teaser clips on social media and getting the fans hyped up.

As it stands, there has still been no project release from the two artists. In fact, we haven't even gotten a single or a video from them. Nothing. Radio silence.

With no explanation as to why there was no drop, people are wondering what the plan was to begin with. Uzi and Future did not announce a release date but Generation Now, the label that the Philadelphia rapper is signed to, claimed that July 31 was the big day. They clarified further, telling a fan that the pair had a mixtape on the way.

Obviously, people are a little frustrated that they didn't keep to their promise. It's still July 31 though and there's still a chance that they end up dropping later in the day.

Among the projects that actually did release are Beyoncé's Black is King visual album, Black Soprano Family's new project, the Road To Fast 9 soundtrack, and more.

Jack Harlow Says He Never Met Controversial "What's Poppin" Producer JW Lucas: Report

Producer JW Lucas has been on the receiving end of backlash today (July 30) following his controversial comments. Lucas has credits that include working with Lil Dirk, DaBaby, and as a producer for Jack Harlow's popular single "What's Poppin." The White producer caught heat after sent out a series of tweets saying that while Breonna Taylor shouldn't have been killed by police, it was a "consequence" of being affiliated with drug dealers and letting them use her home as a "trap house." He also got on Instagram Live with activist Tamika Mallory and told her that he was more qualified to be a leader in the Black Lives Matter movement than she was.

After being dragged ruthlessly on Twitter—including harsh criticisms that came from other hip hop producers and rappers—JW Lucas returned to say that he deleted his original tweet about Breonna Taylor because he was misinformed. He stated that he spoke with Breonna's sister who told him that her home wasn't a "trap house" and it's widely speculated that police falsified reports. 

Meanwhile, SOHH reportedly captured a screenshot of Jack Harlow's response to the unfolding drama. “I’ve never met or spoken to that JW Lucas person. And he didn’t even produce WHATS POPPIN. Logic Says His "Lowest Point" Of His Life Was When He Was At His "Most Famous"

The world recently received Logic's final album, and while we may not get another project from the rapper, he's still going to do the press rounds to promote his latest release. Logic has been openly emotional about creating and dropping his last project, and during an interview with Big Boy's Neighborhood, the celebrated artist spoke candidly about his struggles with fame during his meteoric rise.

Logic's track "1-800-273-8255" became a movement of its own as the message of suicide prevention touched the hearts of fans worldwide. It catapulted the rapper into stardom but when he reached the sky, it wasn't all sunshine. "The thing is, before '1-800' popped off on the Everybody album I was just a known rapper, but I went from that to a pop, known," said Logic. "When you do that, I'm like, 'Oh okay, now I get it Selena [Gomez], now I get it Justin [Bieber]. Okay I get it, Taylor [Swift]. Like, I get it, dog. Y'all get ripped apart."

He also shared the worst point in his career. "My lowest point, my deepest, darkest, depressed state that I've ever been in was my most famous, my most wealthy, my most known. People don't understand that," Logic said. "Would I do it all over again? Yes, because I made it here and I'm still fighting and learning every day." Wale Expresses Disappointment Over MTV VMA Snub: "I Failed Again"

The 2020 MTV Video Music Award nominations are in, and there are many artists who are vexed that their names haven't been included on the list of nods. On social media, artists are retweeting announcements about their nominations, but Wale isn't as enthusiastic. He wasn't recognized by MTV this year and briefly shared his disappointment over on Twitter.

Billboard tweeted, ".@ArianaGrande and @ladygaga lead the 2020 @MTV #VMA nominations! See the complete list of nominees below," a message that Wale retweeted with a forlorn caption. "I failed again." Then, he followed that up with, "I shouldn’t be this disappointed. I know I shouldn’t but here we are."

Wale's fans chimed in with encouraging words about his catalog and reassurance that awards don't measure a person's true talent. Last month, Wale suggested that he's been "blackballed to death" and took issue with the way some members of his team have been managing his career. "I’m blackballed to death . But won’t go there," the rapper said at the time. "I’m either a below average artist or somethin fishy . But the information is out there." YG Recalls Police Storming His Home & Pointing "AKs In My Kid's Face"

He wasn't just on the frontlines of recent Black Lives Matter protests; YG was also out in the streets among the people filming a music video. The Los Angeles rapper hasn't been shy about vocalizing his opinions regarding the current political climate and sitting United States President, and in a recent interview, YG opened up about a frightening interaction he had with police inside of his home.

YG spoke with The Morning Hustle and discussed an incident that he said occurred in the middle of the night. “Around the Grammys, the police raided my house while I was there with my family and my kids,” the rapper stated. “They came at like, four in the morning when everyone was still sleep.  They had the helicopter going around and everything so I hopped up to see what was going on. I open the door and boom, they draw down on me, which is normal, but my kids at the time were four-years-old and six-years-old at the time in the room with their mom.”

“I tell them that my kids are up there and they still go up there with their guns drawn and putting these big AKs in my kids' face yelling and telling them to get on the ground,” YG added. “Now at this point, I get mad and start wildin’ because they had me f*cked up for going after my kids.” Thankfully, the event ended without further incident but he's not surprised that he's continued to be a target.

JW Lucas, A White Hip Hop Producer, Dragged Over Breonna Taylor Tweets

A hip hop producer is being accused of stepping over the line. The current political and social climate in America is causing many citizens to share their often unpopular opinions on social media, including producer JW Lucas. If his name isn't familiar to you, his work may be; he boasts on Twitter that he's worked with DaBaby, Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Durk. Luas decided to share a few thoughts on Twitter about Breonna Taylor, the young woman who lost her life after police stormed into her house as she was sleeping and shot her to death. JW Lucas doesn't understand why people are backing the young woman's cause.

"Why is the world asking for justice for #BreonnaTaylor...ofcourse she shouldn't have lost her life.... but do you realize that she was involved with multiple drug dealers who were using her house as a trap spot? If you sign up for that life there are consequences," Lucas wrote. He added, "It is terrible Breonna lost her life, and as I said earlier I believe the cops may have mishandled the raid and been to aggressive after being fired on. With that being said what is the punishment the world Is calling for. Those men were on the job and have families as well."

Lucas later apologized to people who were offended by his remarks but it was too late; the internet was swift in letting him know exactly what they thought. He went on Instagram Live, as well, with Tamika Mallory, one of the organizers of the 2017 Women's March. Mallory was recently arrested in Louisville while protesting on behalf of Breonna Taylor. In their heated exchange, JW Lucas told Tamika Mallory that he was more qualified to lead in the Black Lives Matter movement than she was, further stating that Mallory was focused on political gain. Ellen Degeneres Breaks Silence On Alleged Toxic Work Environment Allegations

Fans believed that The Ellen Degeneres Show was the happiest workplace environment until employees began to step forward with accusations of racism, discrimination, and intimidation. Buzzfeed even penned an exposé about what it was like behind the scenes of the popular daytime talk show, causing WarnerMedia to call up a third-party to investigate the allegations. Ellen has remained tight-lipped about the accusations, but on Thursday (July 30), a letter she reportedly sent out to her staffers leaked online.

Ellen Degeneres reportedly wrote that she aimed for her show to be a "place of happiness" where "everyone would be treated with respect." She stated that she's unhappy to learn this isn't the case and because her "name is on the show" she will "take responsibility for that." Ellen also recognized WarnerMedia's investigation and implied that she was fully cooperating. 

"I've not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I'd want them done, " Ellen wrote. "I'm also learning that people who work with me and for me are speaking on my behalf and misrepresenting who I am and that has to stop. As someone who was judged and nearly lost everything for just being who I am, I truly understand and have deep compassion for those being looked at differently, or treated unfairly, not equal, or — worse — disregarded." Ellen added she would never want anyone to experience that.

Kevin Durant Hits Andre Iguodala With Topical Subtweet

Kevin Durant and Twitter go together quite nicely. In the past, Durant has had his fair share of problems on the platform. Of course, we're referring to 2017 when he got caught defending his own honor with a burner account. Following this embarrassing self-exposing, Durant decided to be more direct with his Twitter use, and now, if he has something to say he simply goes out and says it without hiding behind an anonymous account.

Today, Durant went out and used his account in a way that will surely upset the likes of Andre Iguodala. While watching the first game back of the NBA season, Durant wrote about Brandon Ingram by saying "#14 is a different breed." If you're paying attention to the news, this comment is significant as it is a direct diss on Iguodala, who recently referred to WNBA star Aerial Powers by her number as opposed to her name. Iggy's failure to recognize Powers' name landed him in a lot of hot water.

Durant is pretty infamous for these types of subtweets and when you consider his complicated relationship with Iguodala, the timing of it all isn't surprising in the least. While the joke may have gone over people's heads, there is no denying that it's a funny one.

As for Iguodala, however, we're not so sure he's going to be laughing that one off anytime soon.

Vado Admits He Lost His Cool With Tahiry But Insinuates He Wasn't The Aggressor

This season of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition has been a fiery one. Aside from the physical altercations that have occurred between the men in the house and Kurupt being rushed to the hospital for alcohol poisoning, Vado and Tahiry's names became trending topics. The childhood friends decided to take their relationship to the next level, but they've been teetering the line between true romance and a "situationship."

A preview from an episode was shared yesterday (July 29) that showed Vado grabbed Tahiry by her shirt in anger causing the public to criticize the rapper throughout social media. He returned to insinuate that editing made it seem worse than it was and posted a text image on Instagram that read, "Nobody was hit." Vado popped up on Twitter to further explain himself, stating that people need to see the show in order to understand the context.

"I get it y'all don't kno me but those dat do know dat I'm 1 of da most humblest mannered person there is," the rapper tweeted. "Wit dat being said did I lose my cool? Yes I did cause regardless of what I should had never grabbed her by her clothes. As a man we suppose to protect our lady. Period... Jazz & Pelicans Players Kneel During National Anthem

Tonight is a huge one for the NBA as it marks the official return of the NBA season. It took four months to get to this point but we're finally here. Now, 22 teams are competing for an NBA title and in just a couple of weeks, six teams will be going home as they are ousted from the playoff picture. There are two games scheduled for tonight including a highly-anticipated match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. The other match is going on right now and it's between the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Prior to tip-off, both teams stood together and wore Black Lives Matter jerseys while kneeling for the anthem. It was a great moment of solidarity between both teams and it showcased the unity going on right now in the midst of the virus as well as social justice efforts.

NBA players are going to great lengths to get their message across, including social justice phrases on the backs of their jerseys. In the tweet below, you can even see an example of some of these messages in action.

Needless to say, players throughout the league are eager to continue the social justice fight well into the playoffs.

With the release of Black Is King nearly upon us, hitting Disney+ at midnight and following Lemonade and EVERYTHING IS LOVE, Beyoncé is about to shake things up yet again. With fans reeling over what's to come, the legendary artist released the latest trailer for the film, which features her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

Future & Lil Uzi Vert Are Dropping A Collab Tape Tomorrow

In 2017, the collaborative album was starting to feel like a new normal -- though some might not have described that as a net positive, given the inconsistent quality that tended to arise. It got so bad that even high-profile efforts were met with lukewarm reviews. Before long, the game was quietly suggesting that the collab tape take a backseat, a request that was more or less honored throughout the following years. Now, however, the unofficial embargo has been lifted -- lo and behold, Future was among the first to jump into the mix.

While it was initially rumored that Future and Lil Uzi Vert were teaming up for a new single, it would appear that the two rappers have decided to deliver a full project. Even after both parties delivered a collective three albums in this year alone -- two for Lil Uzi, one for Future -- it would appear they've still got gas left in the tank for another go-around. 

Of course, collaborative albums seldom find both artists delivering their A-game, but rather two friends having fun in the booth. Though it doesn't always lead to a timeless project, it can serve as a temporary rush of musical dopamine -- and given that we're looking at Future and Lil Uzi Vert here, it's likely we'll get a banger or two out of it. Her career has continued to climb since her 2016 appearance on The Rap Game. Then, a teenage Mulatto wanted her chance at stardom and proved that she was better than her fellow contestants. Although she ended up taking the crown, she opted to not sign with So So Def and moved on as an independent artist. The track ended up being Meg's "Hit My Phone" and the "Savage" spitter returned the favor, appearing on Kehlani's "Real Hot Girl Skit." The two reportedly have a close bond, so it isn't surprising that when it comes to her collaboration with Tory Lanez, Kehlani is making some moves to distance herself from the controversial artist.

Recently, fans noted that Kehlani stopped following Tory Lanez on Instagram following his shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion. Details about what led up to Megan being shot in both of her feet remain a mystery, and while Tory was arrested, he reportedly hasn't been named as a suspect.

Dascha Polanco Denies Shading The Black Community Over Latinx Emmy Tweets

Orange is the New Black star Dascha Polanco found herself in hot water on Wednesday (July 29). There were many people celebrating following the announcement of the Emmy nominations, but the Latinx community wasn't as happy as everyone else. They didn't see themselves represented as much as they'd like, sparking a discussion that spilled over into social media.

Actor John Leguizamo tweeted, "Why can't we Latinx have a piece of the pie? We are the largest ethnic group in America and missing as if we didn't exist!" Dascha added to his tweet and wrote, "If Its only us speaking up on it, no one cares. It's the silence from those that fight for equality but only their equality. Diversity but Diverse enough to include thyself That mentality of 'As long as I'm good; I don't see a **** thing.'"

The public, specifically Black people, didn't appreciate Dascha's tweets. They believed she was saying that the reason there is a lack of Latinx people represented is that Black people and the Black Lives Matter movement has failed to support other cultures. After being criticized on social media, Dascha Polanco returned with a video to explain her previous thoughts.

"It was not shading our Black community. Blackness is in my DNA as a Dominican, as an Afro-Latina, as a whole," Dascha said. "What I'm referring to is, we cannot sit here and say we are snubbed and write these articles and all these kinds of things when we ourselves are not doing our due diligence to create the work, to create the opportunities. We can't claim diversity but when you're good, then everything else is okay."
