Ben Baller Creates Kid Cudi An Insane Spinning Murakami Chain

Ben Baller is arguably the best jeweler in hip-hop today. Over the past several months, the Korean-American craftsman has curated custom pieces for Tyler, The Creator, Tyga, Drake, and more. Now, the former DJ and record executive has produced one of the most intricately detailed custom pendants and chains for none other than Kid Cudi in celebration of the hip-hop musician's 36th birthday yesterday (Jan. 30). 

The one-of-one rose gold-based "Kiki" pendant inspired and designed by Takashi Murakami and Ben Baller himself features hundreds of handset Pink Sapphire gems, rubies, and diamonds complete with a matching multicolor Murakami Skull Flower Link chain to complement the ornament. This particular piece is the first complete project of the year for Ben Baller and required a year's worth of curation to fully execute. 

Each Murakami flower on the chain is individually designed and has the ability to spin on its own axis. The back of the chain features engraved graphics of Kid Cudi's logo, Takashi Murakami's logos, as well as Ben Baller's IF & Co. custom jewelry trademark. 

Less than a year ago, Kid Cudi commissioned Ben Baller to craft him a custom BAPE pendant and chain that costed the "Mojo So Dope" rapper over a quarter-million dollars to complete. With Kid Cudi's upcoming Enter Galatic LP and Nextflix series set to release sometime this year, Scott Mescudi's 36th year alive has the potential to be his best one yet.

Pastor Troy Talks Lil Nas X, Says He Isn't Homophobic But Being Gay Isn't Right

The Grammys were overrun with outrageous outfits that are way out of budget for the average American, but Georgia rapper Pastor Troy took aim at 20-year-old Lil Nas X in a recently deleted Instagram post. The 42-year-old hip hop personality seemed to take issue with the "Old Town Road" artist's pink suit and...well...gay people kissing in an Applebees commercial.

Pastor Troy wrote:

"Welp, Guess I won’t be winning a GRAMMY...If this what I gotta wear. They love to push this shit on Our Kids!! The other day @applebees had some punks kissing and laughing eating mozzarella sticks. First Thing My 14 yr old Son said was, “F**** Applebee’s” And It Brought Joy to My Heart!! He sees it...their agenda to take the masculinity from Men, Black Men Especially. He would later double down on his remarks while dropping the word "f*g" in the process, and social media users were quick to call him homophobic. However, Pastor Troy has resurfaced once again and visited The Morning Hustle to deny those claims. He said: “I’m not homophobic at all. I’ve been in this rap game for 20 years I done took more pictures with gays, transvestites, all that. It’s not my concern what you are or what you do. Just because I took a picture with this person doesn’t mean I gotta go home and tell my son, ‘Hey man, it’s alright to be gay. Wales. 

The song produced by Tank God features upbeat, punchy piano chords, soft string sections, and quick-hitting drum sequencing. The 808 bassline provides the instrumentation with a thunderous backdrop while both "The West" rapper and K. Wales pass the mic back and forth through the song's opening verse. Chris Brown enters the track on the following verse with multilayered down-pitched vocals maximizing his presence while he delivers his flow in his patented melodic rap vocal cadence. 

Despite the fact that this song slipped through the cracks and was leaked on the internet some time ago, the midtempo and positive vibes of "Tank" has the potential to propel Kai Ca$h and K. WWE Legend Edge Inks Massive 3-Year Deal: Contract Details Revealed

WWE Hall of Famer Edge had not wrestled in nearly nine years due to a severe neck injury, but that changed this past weekend at the annual Royal Rumble event. The Rated-R Superstar made his shocking return as the No. 21 entrant in the Rumble, much to the delight of the sold out crowd at Houston's Minute Maid Park.

Edge delivered several spears upon his return before finally being eliminated by Roman Reigns in the final moments of the match. He made an appearance on Monday Night Raw the following night, but was interrupted by his former tag team partner Randy Orton, who laid waste to him with an RKO and a series of chair shots. 

WWE later announced that Edge "had been taken to a local medical facility following the attack" and it has become quite clear that they're setting up an Edge-Orton match at Wrestlemania 36 in Tampa. As it turns out, fans can also expect to see Edge compete in a number of matches moving forward.

According to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Edge recently inked a three-year deal worth $9 million, which will become guaranteed if he takes part in at least three matches per year. In fact, McCarthy reports that the Rated-R Superstar is scheduled for five matches and 25 total appearances in 2020 alone.

He'll likely be off tv for a while as he recovers from the attack on Monday Night Raw, but it won't be long before Orton gets a taste of his own medicine.

PETA Angers Internet With #TakeAKnee, Colin Kaepernick-Inspired Super Bowl Ad

If there's one organization that knows how to stir the pot, it's PETA. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group has been known to throw paint or flour on fur-wearers, stage unorthodox protests in the streets, and call out celebrities on social media. As much as they'd like the world to believe they have good intentions, their methods often rub people the wrong way.

According to PETA, they were all set to debut an advertisement during Super Bowl LIV, but they were rejected. Yahoo Sports reports that the organization's animated ad's message was to "End Speciesism" as it shows various animals somberly taking a knee al la Colin Kaepernick. PETA shared the one-minute ad online, and to say that the reactions were confuddled is an understatement.

“The National Football League apparently found our new Colin Kaepernick-inspired ad — with its message of inclusion and respect — too daring and pressured FOX to snub our commercial,” the organization wrote on their website. “PETA worked with a talented group of advertisers and artists who came up with the idea for our beautiful ad. Positively acknowledged by Kaepernick himself, this project pays homage to all movements that remind us to open our hearts and minds and reject all forms of injustice, including sexism, ableism, racism, ageism, homophobia, and speciesism. … The NFL may be unconcerned with inequality, but we at PETA are activists who will continue to work to dismantle all forms oppression.”

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk also released a statement: “PETA is challenging speciesism, which is a supremacist worldview that allows humans to disrespect other living, feeling beings and to treat their interests as unimportant. Our patriotic Super Bowl spot envisions an America in which no sentient being is oppressed because of how they look, where they were born, who they love, or what species they are. It sends a message of kindness — one that the NFL should embrace, not silence.”

Ice Cube Reveals Inspiration Behind Writing Eazy-E's "Boyz N The Hood"

Ice Cube is one of hip-hop's most prolific songwriters to ever pick up a pen or reach for a microphone. His writing ability singlehandedly helped the west coast rise to prominence in the late '80s and he's also responsible for penning one of the greatest diss tracks in all-time in "No Vaseline." However, as of the two decades, the Los Angeles-based lyricist has become a media mogul producing his own movies and running his very own professional basketball association in the BIG3.

Recently, the gangsta rap pioneer made his way to the Uproxx office as a guest on Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh's coveted podcast entitled the People's Party with Talib Kweli to discuss his legacy, his impact on the culture, the success of the BIG3, and more. 

With hip-hop purists being cognizant of his pen, the discussion of Ice Cube's songwriting influence during N.W.A's early days arose to which he revealed the inspiration behind writing Eazy-E's most popular song, "Boyz N The Hood." Cube revealed that he had initially written the cinematic song for a Queens-based rap collective called, Homeboys Only, but they were utterly confused by the context of the song as he described how Dr. Dre influenced Eazy-E to the deliver rhymes. During the interview, Cube said:

"The lyrics was foreign to them. 'You talking another language, man.' And I was. It was the sh*t we talk about out here. They didn’t understand what I was talking about so they rejected it and then Dre convinced Eazy to do it."

The "Steady Mobbin" rapper then went on to reveal that the storytelling raps that he admired during that time influenced him to write the bars stating:

 "It was in the nature of (Ice-T's) '6 in the Mornin,' (Schoolly D’s) 'P.S.K. (What Does It Mean?),' so it was in that vein of telling a story. We was all fans of Slick Rick and fans of KRS(-One)… So those was my favorite cats at the time and so I wanted to make a rhyme that talked about what I knew about: Everything going on in the neighborhood."

With the BIG3 continuously growing and Talib Kweli hoarding music the culture needs, both hip-hop legends have plenty of more to contribute to today's rap climate. Also, with Ice Cube and Talib Kweli as charismatic of a unit as they are in an interview setting, this episode of the People's Party has the potential to be one of the greatest pieces of content, Uproxx and Kweli have released to date.

LeBron James Shares Photo Of Kobe Bryant Tattoo Before Lakers Game

A day after it was reported that LeBron James and Anthony Davis visited a tattoo parlor to get themselves some ink in honor of their late friend Kobe Bryant, King James is sharing the detailed artwork with the world. The Los Angeles Lakers star took to Instagram to display the new Black Mamba snake with the words "Mamba 4 Life" penned underneath.

On Friday (January 31), the Staples Center hosted its first Lakers game since Kobe's death. They laced chairs with No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys for fans and changed the floor layout to read "KB." There were also two seats set aside in tribute to Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant as the teen perished in the helicopter crash alongside her father. Bouquets of red roses were placed on each chair.

When LeBron finally spoke openly about the death of his good friend days ago, he shared that he was "heartbroken and devastated." He penned, "Please give me the strength from the heavens above and watch over me! I got US here! There’s so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!!"

Ja Rule Doubtful To Make Super Bowl Halftime Performance Appearance

For months Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have been teasing their upcoming Super Bowl halftime performances. Now, with Super Bowl Sunday just days away, fans and critics alike are speculating what both performers have planned during their sets. Will Shakira will be joined by the likes of her Latin Pop collaborators, Carlos Vives and Alejandro Sanz to perform hits like "La Tortura" and "La Bicicleta?" How about Wyclef Jean to perform "Hips Don't Lie?" All of this remains a mystery, but it looks like fans won't be able to expect a surprise appearance from hip-hop's very own Ja Rule during Jennifer Lopez's setlist.

After a run-in with Page Six, Ja Rule revealed that he will not be sharing the stage with longtime collaborator and friend Jennifer Lopez, despite sharing multiple hits with the Bronx-bred songstress. The "FYRE" rapper spoke shortly to the media outlet saying:

"Everyone's asking me (if I'm performing)... Everyone’s thinking it is gonna be a surprise, but it’ll be a surprise to me as well."

Despite sharing two chart-topping, multi-platinum singles in "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)," the 43-year-old emcee has not received a call from the NFL or J. Lo herself, and with the halftime show set to begin in less than 48 hours, there's a good chance Ja Rule is honest in his assessment that he will not be performing in front of millions of viewers during Super Bowl LIV.

Earlier this week, the NFL announced they will be curating a visual album entitled Super Bowl LIV Live (2020), of all of the night's performances including Demi Lovato's national anthem performance, the entire halftime show, and more. 

As for Ja Rule, the "Livin' It Rapper" is looking to release his first full-length studio album in eight years he's entitled, 12.Twelve.XII. But in the meantime, the Fyre Festival curator will be enjoying the Super Bowl festivities in Miami alongside his music industry family.

Lil Nas X Stars In New Doritos Super Bowl Commercial: Watch

Lil Nas X is taking his talents to the small screen. Earlier this week, Doritos released their upcoming Super Bowl ad starring non other than the “Old Town Road” singer.

In the 60-second commercial, the young musician duels with Western star Sam Elliott over a bag of the brand's updated Cool Ranch chips. But rather than engage in a game of quick draw, the pair have a straight-up cowboy dance battle. And of course they dance to his hit song “Old Town Road” in the process.

"I was just happy to be in any kind of ad but then Doritos and plus it being a Super Bowl commercial, it was like next level for me," he told CNN. "Sam was the coolest, and he's always in character," Nas X said. "He was just nice to talk to.”

"I was a little concerned about having to dance at this point in my life," Elliott told Adweek. "I used loved to dance, I’ve always been athletic but, you know, at 75 things slow down... I wasn’t worried about opening my mouth and talking, but the dancing was a challenge."

Demi Lovato Talks Coming Out To Her Parents: "My Dad Was Like, 'Yeah, Obviously'"

Just yesterday (January 30), Demi Lovato landed in Miami to prepare for her big Super Bowl LIV performance. While it's true that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be holding down the Halftime Show, Demi is all set to sing the National Anthem prior to kickoff. On Friday (January 31), the singer sat down with Andy Cohen for Radio Andy to chat about her forthcoming performance. During the talk, she was questioned about her sexuality and what it was like coming out to her parents.

"I'm still figuring it out," she said without labeling her sexuality. "I didn't officially tell my parents that I saw myself being, ending up with a [woman], possibly with a woman, too, until 2017." The 27-year-old described the conversation as "emotional, but really beautiful and after everything was done I was like shaking and crying and I just felt overwhelmed.”

The singer shared that her "incredible parents" were "so supportive." She added, “My dad was like, ‘Yeah, obviously.' It was like, ‘Oh, okay Dad.'” Dad may have been nonchalant about the news, but Demi was more worried about her mother's reaction. "She was just like, ‘I just want you to be happy,' and that was so beautiful and amazing, and like I said, I’m so grateful.”

Demi recently shared with Zane Lowe that she did want to start a family in this decade. “I don’t know what my future looks like,” Lovato told Cohen. “I don’t know if I’m going to have kids this year or in 10 years. Coronavirus Is Officially A Global Emergency, World Health Organization Declares

The coronavirus epidemic has the world shook right now. Although people have claimed that it's being overblown by the media, it's now a problem globally, BBC reports. The World Health Organization has declared the disease a global emergency. While a large portion of the diseases and deaths related to coronavirus has been in China, predominantly Hubei, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the announcement isn't just on what's happening in China but the possibilities of it spreading across the world.

"The main reason for this declaration is not what is happening in China but what is happening in other countries," Ghebreyesus said. His concern is that as more documented cases of coronavirus spreading to other countries, they don't want it to spread to countries with weaker health care systems. So far, there are 98 cases in eighteen countries, although all of the deaths that occurred have happened in China. "Let me be clear, this declaration is not a vote of no confidence in China," Tedros said.

Tedros praised the Chinese government for the preventative measures they're taking while also denying that there's any reason to stop trade transactions or travel to China.

Major companies like Google and Tesla have shut down shops in China in wake of the disease. Wilbur Ross, The US Commerce Secretary, is looking at the bright side of this bleak outbreak, saying, it could "accelerate the return of jobs to North America."

Dawn Richard Shares Wholesome R&B Vibes On Her New Track "Buttah"

Last year, Dawn Richard reunited with some members of her Danity Kane family for a limited residency in New York. The former Making The Band 3 contestant also kicked off the year with the release of her fifth studio album, New Breed (2019), to which she wrote in its entirety with the help of contributors only two out of the ten songs on the entire LP. Now, the "Billie Jean" singer is back with new music to begin 2020 in the form of "Buttah."

The track produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Lab OX and TrakkSounds features a melodic guitar riff reminiscent of R&B instrumentation of the golden age of the genre. Gentle horn sections, light synth pads, and jazz piano chords dance in between Dawn Richards' uniquely distinct vocal cadence. Richards' performance of the track was virtually flawless and while her vocals were slightly assisted by autotune, her oral display eclipsed the post-production add-on that has become so widely popular in recent years.

Famous Dex Debuts A #ShotOniPhone-Style Video For "Mini Mo"

It's always fun to see an extravagantly-edited music video from the top rappers in the game, but it's also just as acceptable to get the job done yourself without all the theatrics. That's why we commend Famous Dex for dropping some super DIY visuals with help from his Smiley films gang to assist his soulful new banger "Mini Mo."

Relying solely on trippy editing to get their vision across, Dex tapped young creative Caden Campise to shoot and edit the video for a look that gives off a vibe of simply hanging with the homies. Illegal libations and a few other things make up the props seen throughout this three-and-a-half-minute clip, which sees the crew going from the crib to the corner store in a scenario that may be very familiar for many of his loyal fans. Relatable for sure, but we wouldn't recommend any of you try the activities you see them doing at home. Overall, we just dig the self-made feeling of it all — the classic R&B-style sample that plays throughout isn't a bad add-on, either.

"He would talk very dirty to me about fantasies and things, and compare me to the other things actresses that he said were doing kinky, dirty things with him," she said.

As she began to describe the incident, she was asked about Weinstein's body and the first time she saw him naked, claiming that he doesn't have testicles and appears to have a vagina.

"He would say, ‘Do you like my big, fat, Jewish dick?'" she testified in court. "The first time I saw him fully naked, I thought he was deformed and intersex. He has an extreme scarring that I didn’t know, maybe [he] was a burn victim... He does not have testicles, and it appears that he has a vagina." According to Vulture, once she made those claims, his head dropped. 

After leaving court, he was asked if Mann's description of his body was accurate, to which he said, "Yeah, perfect."

The Game Debuts A New Haircut That's Literally Flames

The start of a new year is always a great time to switch things up, and nothing marks a fresh beginning quite like a new hairstyle. For veteran rapper The Game, he decided to go with a fire new look for 2020 that's, well, actual fire.

While his flaming hot haircut was met with many positive responses, the message of his post was a bit less cheerful. His caption reads, "All the shit I been through... it really amazes me that I’m still here," followed by the #FlameGang hashtag to signify the new 'do. While he's notably been still mourning the loss of Nipsey Hussle — he's been regularly making posts under the #MarathonMonday hashtag every week — it is worth noting that he's wearing a pair of Lakers basketball shorts which is presumably in tribute to the tragic loss of basketball legend Kobe Bryant earlier this week. To echo some of the top commenters on his post, including Power actor Larenz Tate who wrote "Keep movin Boss!!! 🏁 continues," we're praying that the homie Jayceon keeps his head held high so we all can see his dope new haircut even better.

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Reveal Go-To McDonald's Order In Super Bowl Ad

The Super Bowl is coming on Sunday. The thing about the Super Bowl is that everyone tunes into it but there's a good chance there's a large chunk of folks who are just tuning in for the commercials. Companies blow millions of dollars to get their advertisement placed during one of the biggest nights on television.

Now, if you know Kanye, then you know he's a big fan of McDonald's. In Frank Ocean's Boys Don't Cry magazine, Kanye penned a poem in tribute to the fast good chain called "McDonald's Man." McDonald's recently revealed their ad for the Super Bowl and they got a few major name celebrities to help them out without actually appearing in the commercial.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian also contributed by revealing their go-to orders at McDonald's. For Kanye, he's a simple guy who enjoys his nuggets. His go-to order consists of a six-piece, three packets of BBQ sauce, a chocolate McFlurry, and a small fries. Kim's order is a bit more left-field than Kanye. Although she does have the six-piece nuggets, small fry, and chocolate McFlurry, she also adds an apple pie and a cheeseburger. Oh, and for dipping sauce, she opts for honey which she says is "the only way to eat" chicken nuggets.

Other celebrity orders include Whoopi Goldberg and Millie Bobby Brown.

A$AP TyY Hints At The Possibility Of "Cozy Tapes 3"

Following the success of Yams Day 2020, which we had the pleasure of attending earlier this month, all eyes are on the entire A$AP Mob to release something new on the music side to get us feeling cozy again for the new decade. While no official word has been announced so far, it looks like A$AP TyY might have some insider knowledge of when we can expect Cozy Tapes Vol. 3 to drop.

When Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends dropped in 2016, we were all under the impression that we'd be getting a new chapter at least every year or so after Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy followed in 2017. Well, it's now been three years since the last volume and we're all ready for another tape in the series. TyY jumped on Twitter yesterday morning (January 30) to see if fans were actually interested by simply writing "Cozy Tapes 3," with a thinking face emoji. With close to 2,000 retweets and over 6,000 likes on his post, we'll go out on a limb and say the answer is an unanimous "yes." He followed up by writing two minutes later, "Shit Could Change ova Night [sic]" with the ever-illusive sunglasses smiley emoji, which honestly could mean anything.

As we wait to see whether he was just trolling or testing us to see if we're all ready for a surprise drop, one thing that's clear is that Cozy Tapes 3 is without a doubt highly-anticipated. Lil Wayne's Funeral album finally hit streaming services earlier today. Fans have been waiting for the project for a minute and Weezy delivered, depending on who you asked, of course. The thing about the project is that it actually felt like the first time in a while where Wayne's not only felt comfortable in his bag but also got more personal and dropped more gems than usual about where his life's at right now, especially when it pertains to his ever-mysterious love life.

Loverboy Weezy certainly popped out on Funeral and he did not hold back on letting his feelings known. As may have heard, he's been romantically connected to a plus-size model from Australia named La'Tecia Thomas. Rumors of engagement have run rampant in recent times and she's also been seen rocking a chain that reads, "Carter," as pointed out by Bossip. While neither has publicly come out confirming their relationships, Wayne seemingly made it a bit more evident on Funeral.

The First Trailer for New "Fast & Furious" Sequel "F9" Is Here

When The Fast and The Furious debuted in theaters back in 2001, no one could've guessed that the franchise would become a multibillion-dollar entity that would spawn a total of nine films, 10 if you include the upcoming grand finale arriving in 2021 and 11 if you include the 2019 spinoff Hobbs & Shaw — actually, make that twelve if the planned fast, furious and female-led spinoff comes to fruition as well. You might need a minute to digest all of that, but in the meantime take a look at the debut trailer for the most current sequel arriving this year titled F9.

Universal Pictures was able to unite the entire gang for this new installment, sans the late Paul Walker who as we all know died back in 2013 during the filming of Furious 7. However, his legacy lives on through a young character named Young Brian who appears to be taken in by Dominic Toretto, played by the series' main star Vin Diesel. As the trailer shows, family actually is a huge running theme in F9 as the villain is revealed to be Dom's little brother played by none other than John Cena. Other key players are back as well, including Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) and the surprising return of both Mia (Jordana Brewster) and Han Lue (Sung Kang), the latter who suffered a fiery fate in the 2006 film Tokyo Drift. While that may be explained chronologically in F9, it's still a confusing sighting at first glance for many fans out there. Also returning are femme fatales Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron, reprising their roles as Magdalene Shaw and Cipher, respectively. Tokyo Drift star Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) also returns as well, and although she doesn't appear in the trailer Cardi B is set to make a cameo appearance as a character named Leysa. With all that said, get ready for what's sure to be a wild ride!

50 Cent Wears Mask & Gloves Amid Coronavirus Outbreak: "No Pictures For You"

The Coronavirus outbreak is causing major concerns across the world. North America has seen a few cases of Coronavirus so far while several other countries in Asia, outside of China, have documented cases of the disease. Among the many individuals who feared the Coronavirus infecting them is 50 Cent who has publicly expressed his concern about the virus. Most recently, the rapper hit social media to reveal his new fit: a mask and gloves.

In an attempt to prevent getting infected, 50 Cent shared a video of himself donning a surgical mask and gloves while informing his fans that he won't be getting close to them anytime soon. "What? F**k that, don’t come nowhere near me. No pictures," he said. He echoed the sentiment in the tweet itself reading, "No pictures for you, and no coronavirus for me."

Although it might be extreme, it should be expected coming from 50 Cent. This entire week, he's made a concerted effort to warn his fans about coronavirus. He initially took to Instagram to urge Trump to "send this sh*t back to China" before continuing to crack jokes about an L.A. Chinese restaurant's coronavirus prevention plan and Gucci belts.

Perhaps 50 Cent might feel like he's valid in his prevention. After all, the World Health Organization chief did declare Coronavirus as an actual global emergency.

Post Malone & The Migos Set To Perform At Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl 2020 Bash

Michael G. Rubin, the CEO and majority owner for the e-commerce retailer, Fanatics, has become the curator for one of the hottest Super Bowl pre-parties in existence in just a single year. Last year, the Fanatics Super Bowl pre-party featured performances by the likes of Meek Mill and Cardi B and one of the best moments in recent hip-hop history as Robert Kraft took to the stage in a diamond-encrusted Dreamchasers chain and danced alongside the "Bickenhead" rapper. Fans of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will be overjoyed to know that there are a plethora of colorways on tap for 2020, including the all-new "Marsh" iteration releasing this Saturday, February 1st. Although the yellow-based Yeezys will not officially drop for another couple of days, a number of pairs have already been sold on StockX, giving us a good idea of the resale value.

Ellen DeGeneres & Alicia Keys Present Teen Told To Cut Dreads With $20K Scholarship

Last week, a Texas teen by the name of DeAndre Arnold was told that he would not be able to participate in his high school graduation ceremony unless he cut off his locs. Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas, claims that the teen's hair goes against the district's dress code and was placed under in-school suspension. Since then, Arnold and his mother Sandy, have addressed the school's oppressive practices and refused to deny the teen of representing his Trinidadian roots. 

After gaining the attention of national media outlets, DeAndre and his mother were invited as guests to The Ellen Show to discuss the Barbers Hill Independent School District's recently instated policy that has Arnold, an 'A' and 'B' student, disinvited to his own graduation ceremony. Ellen DeGeneres kicked off the conversation with the 18-year-old expressing her support of Arnold's decision to not comply with the demands of the Texas-based institution. 

DeAndre explained how his locs are currently relevant to his Trinidadian culture and how the school is attempting to force into alternative school for the remainder of his high school career. The bright teen also revealed that he wants to attend college in order to be a veterinarian. 

After revealing his frustration with the school and his post-graduation plans, Ellen pleaded into the camera for Arnold's school district to reconsider letting the student walk the graduation stage alongside his peers this spring. Then the Emmy Award-winning talk show host called upon Alicia Keys, who hosted the 2020 Grammys, to present DeAndre with a scholarship worth $20,000 for his upcoming collegiate endeavors. 

CNN reached out to the school's superintendent, Greg Poole, last week who stated:

"People want to call us racist, but we're following the rules, the law of the land. We're certainly not making this up," in defense of the school's dress code policy. 

With the oppression of black hairstyles being a common theme in society, hopefully, DeAndre Arnold and others continue to stand against the injustices brought up against alternative cultural lifestyles and aesthetics.

Chiefs' Tyreek Hill Wants To Try Out For Olympics After Super Bowl LIV

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, players in the NFL and even a vaunted defense like the San Francisco 49ers will have their hands full trying to contain him in Super Bowl LIV this Sunday.

Hill aka "Cheetah" is such a gifted runner that he is even considering trying out for the 2020 Olympic team once the Super Bowl is over. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Hill explained, "Hopefully after this season, if I’m healthy and my mind is still in the right place, I really want to try to qualify for some Olympic teams." Asked if he was serious and had looked up what it would take to qualify, Hill added, “Yeah. Yeah, I have. I have.”

If Hill does want to have a realistic shot at competing in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo later this year, he admits that he'll have to undergo some drastic dietary changes in order to get down to the weight he was when he was dominating the high school track & field circuit.

“But the thing is, I weigh like 195 right now. Back in high school, when I ran a 9.9[-second 100-meter dash], I was like 175. So it would be me changing my whole diet that I’ve been doing to get to where I am now,” Hill said.

DJ Kahled, Cardi B, Lizzo, Gaga & More Set To Perform During Super Bowl LIV Week

While this week has been filled with tragedy and the world currently mourning the death of one of the greatest NBA players of all-time in Kobe Bryant, this year's Super Bowl festivities are commencing in commemoration of his life and this Sunday's big game. With Super Bowl LIV set to take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FL, A-list celebrities are lining up their appearances and performances in celebration of the NFL's final game of the season. With performances from the likes of DJ Khaled, Post Malone, Cardi B, Lizzo, Lady Gaga, Diddy, Shaquille O'Neal, and more, this year's Super Bowl gatherings have the potential to be a historic moment in the entertainment realm.

DJ Khaled, who took home the Grammy Award for Best rap/Sung Performance for his single "Higher," featuring the prolific and late-Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, will be performing at several parties in his hometown of Miami including the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest's EA Sports Bowl, the VEWTOPIA Music Festival, and Rolling Stone's party. In an interview with the Associated Press, the mega-producer had this to say about his Super Bowl plans:

"Oh yeah, we're definitely celebrating (this) week. I remember Super Bowl came here 10 years ago and it was a special time. We want to make this special, too. I'm excited it's in Miami."

Coming off of her Grammy Award victories, Lizzo will also be making an appearance in Miami performing at the SiriusXM & Pandora Opening Drive Super Concert Series and then at the Planet Pepsi Zero Sugar party alongside Harry Styles and others. 

Cardi B has been booked to perform at an upcoming trailer reveal party for Fast & Furious 9 as well as a late-night performance at LIV and VEWTOPIA as a headlining act. Lady Gaga, who performed during the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show will provide entertainment for the AT&T TV Super Saturday Night audience while Post Malone hits the stage at the Bootsy On the Water pop-up. 

Shaquille O'Neal, who's been struggling immensely with the death of Kobe Bryant, will be bringing his carnival-themed music festival, Shaq's Fun House to Miami for Super Bowl LIV. The festival featuring performances by Diddy, Diplo, Pitbull, himself as DJ Diesel, and more will donate 100% of its proceeds to the Vanessa & Kobe Bryant Foundation as well as the families who lost loved ones in this past week's helicopter accident. 

In an Instagram post, the Hall of Fame center revealed that he almost canceled his upcoming event stating:

"Mighty Ducks" Child Star Shaun Weiss Arrested On Charges Of Burglary & Meth

In Hollywood, it's not uncommon to see child actors grow up to be adults who often are in trouble with the law. If they don't find themselves behind bars, many former child actors deal with emotional or mental issues, or possibly drug or alcohol addictions. Often, it's all of the above. The thrust into fame at a young age is something children struggle coping with, especially if as they grow older they find it difficult to maintain the level of celebrity they held as a youngster.

Shaun Weiss was a comedic actor in his younger days, picking up roles on The Cosby Show, Boy Meets World, Freaks and Geeks, City Guys, Webster, Charles in Charge, and most notably as Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks series. However, in recent years, the 40-year-old has made headlines for his troubles with law enforcement more than his acting career. In August 2018, he was taken into custody for public intoxication. Four months later, he was arrested for shoplifting.

It was reported on Wednesday (January 29) that Weiss was once again put in jail. On Sunday (January 26), the former actor was arrested in Marysville, California, around 7:00 a.m. on charges of residential burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance. It's believed that he was high on methamphetamine. According to police, Weiss broke into a garage before shattering the window of the car inside. The owner of the home heard the noise and called police who, upon arrival, found Weiss sitting inside of the vehicle. His bail has reportedly been set at $52,500.

Minnie Mouse Throws Hands At Security Guard In Vegas, Mickey & Goofy Get Involved

This may not be the sort of headline you usually see on our site, but we felt compelled to share this footage with you. The Las Vegas strip recently turned into a mix of Disney Land and Fight Club when a woman dressed in a Minnie Mouse decided to square up on a security guard. 

While the video shared by TMZ starts out with the security guard approaching Minnie and throwing a punch, our best guess would be that the altercation stemmed from the entertainer not having the proper permit to publicly entertain. Minnie, who has lost the head of her costume, aggressively swings at the security guard, pulling her opponent's hair and landing several blows to the face.

Mickey gets involved by trying to pull his boo off the fallen security guard. Minnie continues to go H.A.M. until she iconically shouts, "I ain't no bitch, bitch!" and takes off with her cartoon shoes in hand. Oh yeah, Goofy was there too, but staying true to his character, he was pretty spaced-out. He stood idly by, not partaking much in this surreal fight. 

According to TMZ, law enforcement has no interest investigating this mess unless either of the parties come forward.

ABC News Suspends Matt Gutman For Erroneous Kobe Bryant Daughters Death Report

When TMZ broke the news that Kobe Bryant had perished in a helicopter crash, news outlets scrambled to obtain more information. First, the unbelievable news prompted publications to confirm that Bryant was, indeed, deceased. After that, social media lit up with misinformation that was being reported on from your neighbor next door to major news media outlets. We would all later learn that Bryant passed away, but information about the others involved would take a bit more time to confirm.

In those few hours before the world would learn about all of the others that lost their lives in the accident, including Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, television reporters were sharing unsubstantiated information that they'd picked up from social media. ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman shared on-air that Bryant died alongside all four of his daughters, a report that sent shocked the wrold. Of course, we now know that isn't true, and because of his mistake, Gutman has been suspended by ABC News.

"Reporting the facts accurately is the cornerstone of our journalism," an ABC News spokesperson reportedly said in a statement to CNN. "As he acknowledged on Sunday, Matt Gutman's initial reporting was not accurate and failed to meet our editorial standards." On Wednesday (January 29), Gutman issued a public apology. "We are in the business of holding people accountable. And I hold myself accountable for a terrible mistake, which I deeply regret," Gutman said. "I want to personally apologize to the Bryant family for this wrenching loss and any additional anguish my report caused."

The award-winning reporter has been apart of the ABC News family since 2008 and has been responsible for covering some of the nation's most controversial and harrowing incidents. Gutman isn't the only reporter who found themselves disciplined for comments involving Kobe Bryant since the basketball icon's death; The Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez was suspended after she tweeted about Kobe Bryant's rape case scandal in the wake of his death.

MC Hammer's Cheetos Super Bowl Ad Honors 30 Years Of "Can't Touch This"

It's been 30 years since the release of MC Hammer's flagship song, "Can't Touch This." Now, the Oakland-bred emcee's most popular track is being used to promote Frito-Lay's brand new Cheetos Popcorn in an upcoming ad set to run during Super Bowl LIV when the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers this upcoming Sunday.

In an interview with Forbes magazine, MC Hammer, born Stanley Kirk Burrell, details his affinity for the cornstarch-based snack as a youth growing up in the Bay Area. The "Too Legit To Quit" rapper had this to say:

"When I think about Cheetos, besides the taste, what I’ve always loved is the crunch. The crunch was both fulfilling and filling. You could eat some other snacks and say 'Okay I’m good.' But when you eat Cheetos, you actually kind of get full."

This particular ad produced by the San Francisco-based agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and directed by Harold Einstein marks Cheetos' first time appearing during the Super Bowl in over a decade. 

The 30-second commercial promoting Cheetos Popcorn utilizes the brand's notorious 'Cheeto dust' fingers, allowing the leading man to get out of sticky situations due to his orange-blasted fingertips all the while using Hammer's "Can't Touch This" as the scapegoat theme song for the promotion.

Leslie Jones Cussed Out Chris Rock For Getting Her "SNL" Audition

If you're a comedian and your famous friend helps you get an audition in one of the most popular sketch comedy shows in the world, you don't turn them down. Leslie Jones is a beloved cast member of the long-running series Saturday Night Live, but prior to being a show staple, she was a touring stand-up comedian on the rise. Chris Rock was on the hit show from 1990 to 1993 and after seeing Leslie perform live, he thought she'd be a perfect addition. Leslie, on the other hand, did not.

"I didn't come to get the job—Howard, I literally went to tell them how dope I was and was gon' tell 'em no," Leslie said. "I really came out so people can see me and maybe that was gon' give me some opportunities, but I had all plans of saying no." She also explained, "[Chris] saw me at The Comedy Store one late night doing a spot and he was like, 'Yep, she's next level. She's ready.'" Chris then wrote down her name in his "funny book." Leslie added, "I think he called me and was like, 'Hey, I just talked to Lorne [Michaels], I just had dinner with Lorne. Somebody from SNL is gon' contact you for an audition."

She couldn't believe it and initially, she was upset. "Why the f*ck would you do that?" Leslie said she asked him. "I am not a sketch [comedian]. What the f*ck, Chris?! I don't do that sh*t. The f*ck am I gon' do? I'm a f*ckin' stand-up. I'm not gon' be able to do that sh*t." In true Chris Rock fashion, he told her to "shut the f*ck up" and go impress SNL. "And he hung up."

Jessica Simpson Reveals She & Justin Timberlake Kissed Following Her Divorce

To promote her new memoir Open Book, Jessica Simpson made her way by the Jimmy Kimmel stage this week and spoke about some of the topics in the book. One particular part in which Jess decided to talk about was an old kiss with Justin Timberlake, which she says was part of a bet between him and Ryan Gosling however.

“After divorce and he was out of a relationship, he was, like, over at my house, we shared a nostalgic kiss, but I thought, ‘Oh, this is interesting,'" she recalled. "And he took his phone out and started typing. And I was like, ‘Okay, I hope that's not, like, another girl. Like, did I, like, stick my tongue out too much or, you know?’" she laughs.

She continues saying that Justin had a bet with Ryan Gosling from years ago on the Mickey Mouse club about who could kiss Jessica first, and he was apparently telling Gosling he won.

“But apparently him and Ryan Gosling had a bet on who would kiss me first when they were 12-years-old," she continued. "And so, he texted Ryan and said he won the bet. And I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Um…So we don't kiss again. That's done.’"

Despite the nostalgic kiss with Timberlake, Jessica says she had more of a crush on Ryan Gosling than JT. "Ryan was the one that I was, like…when I was 12, I was, like, ‘This guy is so cool and he's from Canada," she dished. "I don't know where that is on the map, but I really think that that's amazing.' And there was something so cute about him. But Justin won the bet."

Pornhub Gifted Kumail Nanjiani With A Free 10-Year Subscription For Getting Jacked

In preparation for his role as Kingo in the upcoming Marvel installment of The Eternals, Kumail Nanjiani underwent a complete physical transformation that has the entire world swooning over his defined physique. With the masses being so taken aback from his transformation, Pornhub decided to use Nanjiani's photo for their 'Muscular Men' category for their website. During a recent stop at Conan O'Brien's late-night show, Conan, on TBS, the Stuber actor detailed how life has changed for him since becoming jacked. 

When initially asked about how he felt in his new muscle-bound body, Kumail Nanjiani jokingly denied the impact his new physique has had on his life stating:

"These muscles are decorative, they don't do anything. They really don't. Emily will be like, 'Can you open this jar for me?' and I'm like, 'Probably, not.'"

When asked about how his fans' reception of his new body, Nanjiani continued:

"People expect me to be different and I'm not. I am slightly less interesting 'cause I do talk about working out a lot and I'm slightly less funny. Other than that, same guy."

As the interview moved forward, the Pakistani-American stand-up comedian turned Marvel Universe participant revealed that he and Pornhub have conjured an unexpected relationship, stating that the adult entertainment company compensated him for using his photo with a premium subscription to their website for an entire decade. Nanjiani revealed:

"They gave me a 10-year free subscription to Pornhub Premium. I will say because people are like, 'Why do you need to pay for porn?' — and I don’t, I do not work for Pornhub, they have not paid me to say this — you have access to a whole new world. Free porn is good but when you go to Premium… I could develop fetishes, crazy ones over the next 10 years and I know I’ll be taken care of."

Out of curiosity, O'Brien asked the Dolittle (2020) actor what kind of fetish porn is provided on the premium side of the highly-popular website to which Nanjiani responded:

"If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn’t understand."

With plot details recently hitting the internet, Marvel's, The Eternals, is rumored to be unlike anything else Marvel has released to date and is expected to hit theaters come Nov. 6.

Linda Hamilton Speaks On Fate Of "Terminator" Sequels: "I Am Not Hopeful"

While many people expected Terminator: Dark Fate to be a runaway success due to the players involved — Cameron! Schwarzenegger! Hamilton! — unfortunately it just proved to be too little, too late of a return for what was once one of the biggest sci-fi franchises in film history. Now that the dust has settled on the unfortunate box office flop, the OG Sarah Connor actress herself is now speaking out on why you may never see the beloved heroine character on the big screen ever again.

Speaking exclusively with The Hollywood Reporter, Linda Hamilton says that today's "unpredictable" movie audience is one of the key reasons why Dark Fate failed to meet expectations for a Terminator revival, instead opting for a "smaller version" that we're assuming could mean Netflix, Hulu or some home streaming service. "I can't tell you how many laymen just go, 'Well, people don't go to the movies anymore,'" Hamilton tells THR about the film's disappointing box office sales, continuing by stating, "It should definitely not be such a high-risk financial venture, but I would be quite happy to never return. So no, I am not hopeful, because I would really love to be done." Ouch!
